Just back and blown away!

We just went on our second DCL cruise, this time without the teenagers! Oh, gosh! What a great time! It was alot more relaxing and stress free..yes, teenagers can be stressful!!!!

Now I just need to save more quarters to go again! I also need a 12 step program..my husband thinks I'm crazy!

Have a magical day, everyone!

OP: Congrats on overcoming your fear and having a great experience! We just had someone in our group cancel two days before sailing because of that fear...wasted about $3K!

jrabbit: Loved the list - that was great!

I'm on the DCL bus now - woo hoo!

...I was also concerned about being in the middle of the ocean not knowing how deep the water was underneath us.

:cloud9:

My father tells me that when he was in the Navy (WWII) they were told not to be concerned as land was never more than a mile away -- straight down!

Don't you love that Navy humor?!?

I'm in a similar state: I do not swim, cannot float, get seasick at the sight of a rowboat, and don't do heights (looking over the railing on Deck 4 in the evening still makes me feel a little icky), but LOVED the Disney cruise! We're going on cruise #6 in January and are booked on the WB TA in 2010. Love those sea days! pixiedust:

We too have joined that club!

Looking forward to our next cruise!

Glad you had a great time and the DCL addiction is almost as bad as the DIS addiction most of us suffer from.

I love the 12 step program the poster replied with its true the only cure for the addiction is another cruise!

So glad to read this thread as we are in the process of booking our first DCL cruise. My major concern is cruising with an almost 3 year old. Of course, if we are going to cruise with a child we know there is no better than Disney. We've read about all the kids' clubs on board, but they show as being for kids 3 and up. Can anyone tell me if they will let our child attend if she is almost 3?

Thanks so much!

My DS will be cruising in Jan 09, 15 days before his 3rd birthday. I called Disney and they said he would be able to enjoy the club as long as he is potty-trained. He is, so he will be going to the club. The CM said that the general rule is within 30 days of their birthday, a child can move up a club.

The best part is that we do not have to pay for an upgrade, because cruise rates are a little bit more expensive for 3 year olds compared to a 2 year old. I was told it was a little bonus.

My family and relatives just got back from the Wonder 11/9-11/3/09 cruise and almost everyone came down with Norovirus. I have been home several days and got it from other family members who got it on board.

certainly puts a damper on wanting to go on future cruises.

We are cruising for the first time on the Wonder Jan 15th!! Can't wait..I am already addicted and just can't hardly wait. Of course my DH thinks I am crazy!!! But my kids are excited too so that makes it all worth it!!!

Yeah...DCL got us addicted to cruising and we were able to go on two great Magic cruises, but our addiction to cruising isn't something we can afford with DCL any more, so we've added Carnival and RCCL to our addiction. We've been able to go on one cruise a year so far since 2005.

Thanks to LoveableGlutton we have our first land vacation booked for next May which may just be a new addiction too!

We drank the poisoned Disney Cruise Line Kool AId as well.

The post cruise blues are just awful!:sad2:

Was it lime green kool-aid?

What I wish I had known the first time I cruised was to make a future cruise reservation onboard, even if you didn't know exact dates when - or if - you would cruise again. That 10% savings and $200 per cabin onboard booking credit (OBC) are a nice savings. You can get your deposit back as long as you back out before the payment due date (cat 4-12). And, apparently, people book "dummy dates" to secure the savings and then move the deposit to another date when they decide when/where they are cruising.

Secondly, don't take so many clothes.

Now you know what it's like. It's better than chocolate, that's for sure and you get lots of chocolate on board.:santa:
