Just back AKLV...thoughts on Savannah view 2BR.....

See the link to the resort map for AKL (Jambo). This will show you the location of the different savannas and "trails" or hallways of the resort. The sunset savanna is to the left of the resort, and the new construction would be across the sunset savanna, although there are other locations you would see some construction, depending on which side of the hallway your room is located. Arusha savanna is in the middle of the "horseshoe" and Uzima is to the right (out from the pool) I think.

We own at AKV, but haven't had our first chance to stay at "home" yet since we don't go until January. From everything I have read, you are mostly correct although I think I may have read that if you are out towards the end of Zebra Trail, facing the Arusha savanna, you may have small views of the construction. I'm not sure how far Kidani may extend beyond Jambo House, if any. Still, I wouldn't think it would dominate the landscape like it does beyond the sunset savanna.

Okay, I know I've seen the floorplans on here somewhere for the different room types in Jambo, but after much searching I can't seem to find them. Do all of the two bedrooms in Jambo have the extra hallway bathroom (3 total)? And do all of the one bedrooms in Jambo have only one bathroom total, located off the bedroom, regardless of booking category???

Here is a typical Jambo House 2BR lockoff (non-Value). There is just the master bath in the 1BR. Only the Kidani 1BR/2BRs will have the additional bathroom behind the kitchen.

Thanks Lisa. I actually finally found your previous post with that floor plan. We had to change our vacation plans at the last minute, but AKV wasn't available during our new dates, so we will just have to stick with our January trip as our first time "home."

I just booked a value studio (cash with DVC discount) for a Friday night in June. Does anyone know what I can expect? I know the values are smaller, but I guess they can be just about anywhere?

Fyi, the value was $261 total. They wanted $371 for a SV.

I stayed in a value studio last month and I LOVED it-I thought it was a great value! So I'm on the waitlist for a value studio again in October. Here are a couple pictures of the view from my balcony-#5020.

I am at the AKL right now! We are in a 2BR LO and have a standard view. We are loving it. Zebra trail with a view of the pool with some animals in the distance. Couldn't ask for more. Rm #5412/5414 The rooms are gorgeous and roomy.

Oh, how funny! I think we had the same exact 2BR LO the week before you!
And you are right... great view!!

When I booked, I didn't even consider a savannah view... just didn't want to have the hassle, dissappointment and annoyance if we got a "construction" view room. In the end we absolutely loved the pool view and I'd book it again in a hearbeat.
