just back AKLV, magic bands and Memory Maker

Just back 2/23 thru 3/1 at AKLV. DW, DS(12), DD (8) and myself (DD). Great time was had by all. Crows were very low in my opinon most rides were walk on or less then 15min stand by. Used the FastPass+ system all six days, imho it worked great. I was able to see all my FP+ every day. I was even able to change times and/or change the selected attraction in the parks. This new system does force you to prioritize your day more and plan your rides more carefully. There were a couple of times where we went to use a fp at a ride and the stand by time was only 10min or less, so I went into MDE and changed the FP for either a new time later in the day or a completely different attraction. My only suggestion with FP+ is dont be late for you FP time and PLAN, PLAN, PLAN YOUR DAYS.......

Now for Memory maker. As with most DD's i am sure i have thousands of disney pictures with my DW, DD and DS and not me. so this trip i decided to try the memory maker package. I purchsaed it 5 days before our arrival on MDE for 149.00. When we arrived at AKL it was already activated on our Magic bands. The photogrophers in the parks could not have been more accomidating. If i told them we had the MM package they took an extra 2 or 3 photos and possing us in diffrent positions. At all the rides they have people standing at the photo screens waiting to write down the id number of your photo, then you go to a cast member and they load the photo onto your account using your magic band, really, really easy. All total I had 288 photos in my account for six days. Not bad at all. When you get home you just log into MDE and you can download all the photos onto your computer. So easy.

Sounds awesome - so glad to hear a positive review. We are planning an August trip and after some of the negativity I've heard I was starting to get a little worried. Glad everything worked out for you - I would imagine over time little by little, the kinks in the system will work themselves out.

yep, i think the system is working fine, you just have to know how to work it! Also, lets face it they are making it a little tougher with FP limiting you to only 3 and only 1 top attraction and two lower attractions.....

Was only one person able to have the photos linked to memory maker or can anybody in your party do it? We have the memory maker package for our upcoming trip but the reservation is in my name. If DH is in the parks with our son while I am at the resort with our infant twins, will DH be able to have photos taken linked to our memory maker or vice versa? I hope this makes sense!

yes, you have to use MDE. It's my understanding your trip reservation has one controlling person and everybody else in your party can be linked to you.
