Hi Everyone!

I love the Just Back threads, so thought I'd write my own. My parents and I just got back from a 7 night split stay with 2 nights at POR and 5 nights at BC.

We enjoyed POR and had no issues with the one time we used the buses to MK for MNSSHP and the boat to Disney Springs. We enjoyed our stay there (rooms and resort overall were VERY quiet), but I did not like how huge it was and having to walk so much to get everywhere. The food court was sssooo packed everyday at all hours, which was a huge draw back. I enjoyed my stay there, but don't think I'd be back. I prefer deluxe resorts, but think POFQ would be nice since it is much smaller than POR and their beignets are amazing!

One thing I'd like to add, is when we received our luggage from DME, the zipper to the main compartment was broken to the point I couldn't use the suitcase. Even though it could have been the airline's fault, Disney offered to have it repaired for free and send it along to BC! SO much better than trying to argue with the airline about it.

MNSSHP is another thing I'm glad I did once, but probably wouldn't do again (this was on 9/17). If crowds are supposed to be limited, I could not tell. Everything felt PACKED. Lines for rides, though shorter than a typical day, were still long. We didn't do any character meet and greets as we didn't have much interest. We were able to do a decent amount of rides, do some trick or treating, see the Hocus Pocus show, the fireworks from behind the castle, and watched the later parade. I'm not a parade or fireworks person, but did really enjoy Boo To You and Hallowishes! Unfortunately, with the crowds, I didn't enjoy the party as much as I thought.

Disney made moving to BC very easy. This was our first time at this resort and we all really enjoyed it. You can't beat the location, especially for F&W. I would stay here again, but YC seemed a little bit nicer and less busy, so I think I'd try that next time.

F&W was another thing we've never been to before and we mostly enjoyed everything we tried, but there was so much it's impossible to do everything! I'd go back again for it, but again, it was so crowded, I'm not "hard pressed" to do so. Plus, I feel like Epcot has tons of food to try even without F&W.

For ADRS we had:
Homecomin (lunch): Pretty good, but food was so heavy. Our waitress was excellent!
Boma (dinner): Our MUST DO every single time! The peanut soup is AMAZING!
Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner): We all really enjoyed it, especially the onion bread with garlic. I'm glad I tried it once, but would try another signature next time, like Jiko.
Rose & Crown (dinner): Very relaxing sitting outside, good food, and good service. I'd definitely return!
Tusker House (RoL dinner): This place is fun and I enjoy the buffet a lot, but it is a bit loud and chaotic. I'd only eat there for dinner with the RoL package again as that's a good value on the DDP.
BOG (breakfast): I've eaten here for lunch and dinner before on previous trips. Breakfast was not good. This was the only meal of the trip where I did not like what I ate. The restaurant was too chaotic and the food was pretty gross and SO overpriced, even if using the DDP. I was there for dinner last year and really enjoyed that meal. I will never return for breakfast and probably not lunch.
Skipper Canteen: Definitely surprised at how much I liked it. I got the whole fried fish, which was pretty fun to eat. The restaurant wasn't super busy either. I'd definitely go back!
Cape May Cafe (breakfast)

We also tried Satuli Canteen for the first time and I thought portions were perfect and loved creating my own bowl. The blue dessert was slightly disappointing, but worth trying at least once.

We did pretty well with FP+ even with it being so crowded and the highlight, of course, was FoP. My parents and I came out agreeing it was the best ride we EVER have ridden!! Even if you can't get a FP, it's worth waiting maybe up to 1 hour.

Lastly, we did the Star Wars dessert party, which was a lot of fun! We just had enough time to get about 2 plates of treats, try a few drinks, and meet Chewbacca (best meet and greet ever!). Our fireworks view was good, but we are all pretty short, so it's hard to see over people's heads. We got the TIE fighter popcorn buckets and would have rather had the Chewbacca steins. This was another thing I'm very glad we did, but wouldn't do again.

Just some general things, every castmember we interacted with was either very pleasant or went above and beyond, talking to us, making recommendations, etc. Bathrooms were very clean and we dealt with minimal ride breakdowns. While we didn't have any crazy "Pixie Dust" moments, we definitely experienced Disney-level service you would expect.

Overall, I'm glad I had the opportunity to go during the fall, but think if I'm going to be dealing with crowds, I'll stick to the winter months, so it will at least be a bit more comfortable. I bought a platinum AP and plan to return for DAH in January.

I'm happy to answer any questions!

Tusker House was crazy and loud during our visit too.

It's definitely a popular place between having the characters and the RoL packages. I'd like to try Tiffins next time. We went to Nomad Lounge and the whole restaurant seemed really nice :)

What didn’t you like about the blue desert? I get to go next month since pandora opened and wondered what exactly it tastes like that made it disappointing?

Otherwise awesome trip report!

I thought it would have more of a blueberry flavor, but it was very subtle and tasted more like plain cheesecake. I think it's definitely worth a try once though! I don't regret trying it. I used a snack credit and thought it was a good use of one.

The white stuff on the top is not good. Knock it off before you eat the rest.
