We started the trip on the assumption that we were taking my Mom to the airport to go to England so the whole way there my DD 8 was complaining that she should have stayed home and did her homework. The traffic was awful but we finally made it and the time had come to tell the kids to say we are going to disney world. They did, I snapped the picture and realized that they weren't biting-so I said we really are going to Disney World and my DD says to DS 5 shes just playing a joke on us. So it took me actually pulling their luggage out of the trunk to convince them that we were indeed going. The looks on their faces were great and I really hope that I got it on film.
We arrived at Orlando and were greeted by Andy of FL Tours and were driven to CBR in a beautiful towncar. I highly recommend traveling with them. I checked-in it took about 3 minutes (it was past midnight) and we were driven to our village Barbados. I was kinda bummed because I had requested Jamaica but it turned out that we loved being in Barbados-really enjoyed the walk to OPR and the hammocks-what can I say they are the best.
Our first day was just a day to relax and catch up on the sleep that we lost the night before. I know to the commando tourists that this is not acceptable but I was traveling with my DM and kids and we would need to refuel. DD was just getting over strep throat and I really did not want to push her. So we went to the pool at OPR. Very crowded-kids did not like it so we switched to the Barbados pool. Everyone was happy!
That evening we went to the AKL and took the kids to Simba's Clubhouse. They loved it and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a few hours to themselves. My DM and I then headed over to the spa at AKL and had 50 minute massages. One word "heavenly". We picked the kids up after 2 hours at Simba's and then headed over to Chef Mickey's for dinner-as usual the meal was great and so was character interaction. We then rode the monorail back to Epcot (we got to ride in the front) and caught the CBR bus back to the resort.
We finished the day with more swimming at the Barbados pool and a drink from the Banana Cabana. Tommorrow its off to MGM.
