Hi all~

Wanted to write about our first trip "home" as BCV owners. It was wonderful!

Started out in a blinding snowstorm for Orlando. When we got there it was muggy and about 78 degrees. Heaven! Picked up our rental at National's EA (kept saying to DH "this is too easy!) and were on our way. We made our grocery stop at Albertson's on Orange Blossom Trail. Then off to BCV.

Arrived at BCV in a torrential downpour. I could barely see where to drive, but made it to the Villas ok. Check in was a breeze; I thought I might not hear my first "welcome home" but the new CM didn't disappoint. Checked in to Rm. 336, a 1BR in the center of the building looking out on the quiet pool. I had requested Epcot view, but our view was so nice, I will request this one again next time.

I sort of cautiously checked around, having read reports of people checking in to a dirty room. Everything appeared fine, til I got in the bathroom. The bathroom floor was major dirty. Could have called mousekeeping, but didn't, as we wanted to get going, so I just cleaned it myself.

As far as park volume, the parks didn't seem to be too crowded. For the most part, we walked on to rides without a long wait. Only had to Fastpass for Test Track and Splash Mountain. The new sequence on the Tower of Terror was......challenging first thing in the morning. I think I liked it better the old way, as our sequence just kept going......and going......and going!

Ate at Boma for dinner, which was excellent. The desserts were as fabulous as everyone has posted. Also had a great meal at Spoodles and of course had to eat at Beaches and Cream for the best hamburger in the World! CM said they are trying to figure out how to expand, but nothing definite yet.

Also did an add-on while there. Our guide said that BCV is now over 75% sold with complete sellout anticipated probably June.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me.

Did you report the bathroom floor condition to anyone? I also had to clean our bathroom floor because it was also dirty, among some other things. I did however mention it at the front desk. I wonder why is this happening over and over again. Where are our dues going to or is it not on this at all and are the housekeepers just overworked. overwhelmed and underpaid?

Makes you wonder?

I have never experienced this as much as with the DVC now. When we stayed at the CR several times it was always very clean and we had to do absolutely nothing. Just curious. :(

room location......that is fantastic.....sorry about the dirty bathroom.....I think you should of reported it also......thanks again for your post

Hi~

I didn't report the dirty floor while we were there, but should I get one of those follow up surveys, I definitely will follow up.

Glad to hear you had a good time and congrats on your add on!! We are leaving in 18 days for BCV, we can't wait. I know we will b tempted to do an add-on, I may have to tie my hands together in order not to sign any paperwork;)
How was the Stormalong Bay area, crowded? Any indication of when the slide refurb will be open?
Thanks!

we were in 102 of the BCV checked out last Friday and on the last day as I was making a last check through the rooms I looked up in the door frame as I opened it and noticed a squashed and pretty much petrified gecko stuck above eye level. ---We were on the first floor and I can see how they could enter but we sure got a suprise. Our door didn't work and they were very quick to fix. Our major problem was my daughter ......she won a basketball on the boardwalk and they were packed in a suitcase for the trip home--at the airport we got called to the front security because our bags smelled like gas. We knew it was the balls (which had a strong rubbery stink) but we had to be present when the bags were opened--the end of the story is we lost our suitcase because it smelled like gas and the 2 basketballs the kids won because they smelled llike gas almost missed our flight and I Almost had a heart attack! (not even counting acting like a ding-dong because I was so nervous)! We loved BCV and will go back!!!

Jackie--

Wanted to get back to you about your SAB questions. SAB was very crowded while we were there. We had planned to spend our pool time there, and actually wound up going back and staying by the quiet pool at BCV. We practically had it to ourselves. As far as the slide rehab, we heard probably April is when they'll be finished.

Enjoy your trip!

Glad to hear you had a good trip. I can't wait for our first trip home to BCV.:D

How would you contrast BCV to BoardWalk Villas? BWV is our home resort and we were thinking of trying to stay at the BCV next year. Anyone who can comment on both?
