:cool1: I've never done a TR before..so here goes!Checked into HRH Aug.11.Room was not ready, but we expected that as we got there at 11:00 a.m.Went on up to club lounge, got some sodas and snacks(chips)and waited for our other kids to arrive. We had spent 5 nights at Disneys Port Orleans resort before arriving at HRH.That is another story!!The cast is myself,dh,dd(12 years old and her df(11 years old). The rest of the family joining us is ds and dw,dd and fiance and ds (22 years old).9 people in all!We had a club level room and 2 adjoining rooms on 6th floor.Everybody finally got there(3 came from one part of VA and 2 came from another part of VA)at about 3:00 p.m.We waited out by the pool and got lunch while waiting for our rooms. The girls and I had on our suits,so we ended up swimming while waiting...smart move since it was about 115 degrees!!We got room 7118,beautiful view of pool and parks, but when leaving the room and coming back there was a distinctive smoke odor!Tried to change rooms the next day,but hotel was full. The adjoining rooms were #6088 and 6090.Pretty much the same view.First night there we recieved a fruit basket(shape of a guitar). We also recieved a tray with a bottle of champage, chocolate dipped strawberries,a tin with choc. and a small metal guitat on a stand. We had mentioned we were celebrating our 30th anniversary! We also recieved 2 really nice cards..welcoming us back and wishing us a Happy Anniversary! We pretty much chilled out the rest of the night.Stayed at the pool til time for club offerings, then went back to pool. The rest of the party went to Emerils for dinner.Long story short, they did not enjoy their dinner.Took 2 hours to get their food, was not hardly anyone there and the food was not good??I've never been and now do not think that I will give it a try!Went to bed about 11:00,resting up for the first day at the parks!!I will finish this report with telling you that we have been staying at HRH since it's opening($99.00)per night, club level the last 3 years.Day 2-HRH club food offerings:confused3 and first day at park!

:thumbsup2 Sorry it takes me a while!Came home to 10 pounds of tomatoes and am busily canning salsa!!
Day 2:Got up about 9:15 and went to lounge for breakfast. What they lack at night offerings they make up for at breakfast!I am not usually a breakfast eater, but splurge on pineapple and wheat toast.Usual fare, donuts, cereal, bagels, fresh fruit.I saw some guy carrying around a bowl of hard boiled eggs!HEY...where'd you get that from???:rotfl2: We head on into US about 10:00.Keep in mind it is already about 95 degrees!Family does Mummy 2 times with no wait!Maybe because it is Sunday...where is everybody?Oh yeah, they are at Disney where I left them!!We also hit E.T.,MIB,Earthquake.The terminator did not open til 1:00,so we did the Lucy tribute(love that show)met up with some of the others and hit Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. After filling up went back and got into pool!Iam telling you the heat was a killer.115-120 heat indexes.Funny...I live 20 min. from Busch Gardens Williamsburg and won't go in the summer because it is too hot???Go figure!:sad2:Pool felt like a hot tub!How about a block of ice!!Went to lounge about 6:00 and had Chicago style pizzas, spinach salads and antipasto. Was o.k.Headed to Islands of Adventure .Everybody went on Hulk,DD,Spiderman, went back to pool.Did I mention Scooter? He is the entertainment at the pool.He was there Sunday and Tues.He is a riot!!We stayed in the pool til time for night time dessert(cannolis and cookies)(hey kids stop touching everything with your fingers, yuck).Watched TV and went to sleep.Ihave got to tell you the heat really slowed us down.We had fans, but it got to the point that you were just pushing around hot air!Thats it for day 2.Hope you guys are liking my TR!Gotta get back to my tomatoes!!Day 3 tomorrow:Oh no!!A sick kid!!

Yum! Salsa from fresh tomatoes! Bet your house smells good. Can't wait to hear more of your report. The heat---:sunny: it's hot everywhere this summer! I'm actually looking forward to fall when the weather gets cool and a sweatshirt feels good...but I do love summer...and home grown tomatoes!

Lovely report. We went to RP this August and loved it. Stayed at HR next year so any tips you can incorporate into your report will be most welcome.:)

Day 3

Woke up monday morning with my dd friend not feeling well:sick: .I think it was really bad allergies, but could tell she didn't feel well.So we stayed in the room for 2 hours and let her sleep. Finally woke her up and suggested going to Bubba Gumps for lunch.I am from the old school...sweat the fever out!!She perked up and we had a great lunch,my ds and dil popped into our room and went with us.Came back and changed clothes went to the pool for a few hours.Went to the lounge for the evening offerings...salad and pasta and something else??Like I said, the food offerings were not that great this visit.Went to US for the evening, did mummy again, the girls got a slice of pizza, did terminator and twister.Headed back to peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream at the lounge. The younger group(over 21)went out to the clubs that night ,and had a great time!!Off to bed and our last day is tomorrow.Did I mention...no rain or storms the 10 days of our vacation in orlando??Someone told me it was the hottest and driest aug. in his 17 years of living there!!:confused3

:scared: Day 4:
Last day of vacation!DH and I decided to do a pool day, while the older kids took the younger ones to the 2 parks!Worked out great! We made drinks in our room and lounged in the pool all day.I am a bit competitive,so I joined in on all of the games(even the kids games)but gave my tokens away!Everybody came back about 2:00 and we grabbed some nachos from the pool bar and stayed in pool till about 6:30.The older kids wanted to take dh and myself out for dinner,as my dh had payed for everyones vacation(we were celebrating an early 30th anniversary). We wanted to go to Bubba Gumps(I love that place),and had a great dinner...except for the annoying table next to us...a group from Bank of America that must never get out!!After dinner the older kids surprised us and took charge of the 2 younger ones for the evening, taking them back to parks and shopping.DH and I took boat to PBH,waked around, truly beautiful resort and had a nice walk back to HRH!Grabbed evening sweets for everyone and called it a night!Great vacation in all,5 nights Disney,4 nights HRH!Not sure when we will be back as we are building a new home...but you never know!:rotfl2: We have AP,soooo!!!:woohoo:

Soooooo, you can always plan ahead :rolleyes1

Sounds like a wonderful, relaxing trip....and nice gestures on the "older" kids' parts. I loved Bubba Gumps too :thumbsup2 ...neat restaurant! Thanks for sharing your TR w/ us.....

Sounds like you all had a great time. Did you do a trip report for the Disney part of your trip? I would love to read it if you did.

We ate at Bubba Gumps for the first time on our last trip and we all loved it too, esp. the kids. They loved the "Stop Forest" sign that we used and now when we eat out in a restaurant with slow service they always mention the "Stop Forest" sign and wish we had one so get our server's attention:rolleyes1

Love your TR, and love Bubba Gumps[ mouths watering just thinking abou it]
Nice to get some time on your own.

:thumbsup2 Thanks everybody!Just got back from Hatteras N.C. today!!There is a TR for Disney...not quite as glowing as US!!!:goodvibes
