Just Back 4/1- 4/8

Had a great vacation at BWV. I had to post here about our room. I did not do online check-in.

When we got to the resort I asked for a room farthest from the lobby and I got it! We had a 2BR, Standard View. Rooms 2125 and 2127. Only a few rooms from the end.

We love that location. Close to Community Hall, tennis courts, quiet pool and the sidewalk running to the bus stop.

Everything in our villa was in working order. Only items missing were a laundry basket and a broom. They brought them up quickly.

Funny, we don't make requests and are usually at the end of the hall too. But when we went last month we were very close to the lobby and it was noisy! We asked to be moved if possible and happily got the second to last room similar to you. For our next reservation, I called and requested farthest from lobby, hopefully we get it again. I know many others don't like the long walk but we don't mind at all. Glad you had a great trip!

Someone on these boards suggested to say "tennis courts" rather than "far from lobby". The reasoning was that the person would just see lobby and think you wanted to be near the lobby. Had I remembered to make a request I would have said tennis courts.

For standard, I consider that area ideal, including because of its shorter walk to Studios and easy access to quiet pool and community hall. As someone who owns at BWV and AKV, I learned after staying at near end room at Kidani that there really is no such thing as a long walk to lobby at BWV.

So tell us about all the construction you saw that DVC keeps warning guests about before going to BWV.

For standard, I consider that area ideal, including because of its shorter walk to Studios and easy access to quiet pool and community hall. As someone who owns at BWV and AKV, I learned after staying at near end room at Kidani that there really is no such thing as a long walk to lobby at BWV.

So tell us about all the construction you saw that DVC keeps warning guests about before going to BWV.

I never saw any construction. The only thing I noticed was a ladder on the roof of the cupola, above the "23" rooms, at the bend of the Standard View Rooms. Other than that, nothing. Last year when the room remodeling was going on, we saw workers on the floor below us, but we never heard anything.

It could also be I'm the most un-observant DVC member ever!

Funny, every once in awhile on this vacation, I would wonder "what bad thing is happening that I am just not noticing"? Ex. Unclean bathrooms, grouchy Cast Members, trays of dishes in the hallways, etc. I just don't see it.

Disclaimer: I am employed in the criminal justice system. Every day I see really bad things. I think my perspective is skewed.

Good point, I may call back and say that. More importantly for us, for the first time we have two studios booked, and I requested that they be near each other.

I was there 3/2-3/9 and the only thing I saw going on was painting the outside of the building.
