Hi....we just got back today after spending 3 nights last week in a HRH Kids Suite with 3 kids (8, 4, 1) and then 6 nights at 'that other Orlando park.' I'm still doing a lot of unpacking and haven't written a trip report, but if anybody has any questions, I'd be glad to answer them.

All in all, we had a great vacation. We took it easy at Universal and IOA given that our kids are young, but we all had a nice time.

We loved the HRH pool....the fact that it doesn't get very deep makes it great for kids although I know that's a point of dissatisfaction for people without kids or with older kids.

The Kids Suite was nice, but we paid full price and we would have been better off just using the Entertainment Rate and getting adjoining rooms....that way we would have had an extra bathroom. The Kids Suite didn't have a kitchenette or anything, so it didn't seem like it was really worth paying 3x the Entertainment rate for the lowest price room. It had a cute table as seen on the 360 degree picture, but other than that, the theming was nothing really special.

FOTL was convenient, but the parks weren't all that terribly crowded when we were there (which was mostly in the morning), and our kids are so young that we weren't trying to get onto the most popular rides anyway. It was an advantage but not as much of one as we expected it would be.

Anyway, those are the key points to share that come to mind at the moment....be glad to answer any questions!

Welcome Back! Can you elaborate on any meals you had at the HRH or the parks?

Thanks!

Hi Buzz! Welcome Back!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sooo disappointed to hear about the kids suite! We have a ressie for one also (leaving end of next week). The Kids Suite at PBH is lovely - we were very pleased with it. It doesn't sound like they come close. Is the bathroom large? What was your room # and how close were you to everything from your room? What was your view like? The kids suite at PBH had a microwave and fridge - did this one?

I know you are tired, so when you have a moment......

Thank you.........

Debbie

Two nights we had dinner outside the park....once at Pizza Hut and once at Cheeburger Cheeburger (which we we saw right across from Pizza Hut....they have one of those on Sanibel Island and we were thrilled to see one in Orlando....it's a great place if you like burgers and shakes.) We ate our third dinner at NBA City...I had a Chicken Ceasar Salad, and it was great. The kids had the usual kids meals. It was really reasonably priced for a theme park (actually City Walk) restaurant, and my 8 yo loved the Basketball theme. We purchased a play card for him to do a couple games for $5, which didn't seem too outrageous. We ate at Circus McGurcus Cafe Stoopendus (or something like that) at IOA one day for lunch....it was a cute environment, and the kids liked the food. I can't remember where we ate the day we were at Universal....nothing fancy. We didn't eat anything at the HRH. Having never been there and traveling with young kids we didn't plan too much around the meals, so I'm not sure this helps much!

One other thing I thought was worth noting....I had read on these boards about the fact that the HRH was equipped with PlayStation in the rooms....my 8 yo spotted the controller right away. Although I don't really consider myself a naive person, I had made the assumption that the PlayStation would be free....upon arrival I saw that it was listed with the pay-for-view movies at a rate of $7/hour and out of 'courtesy' they don't interrupt you to let you know when your hour is almost up. I felt like my ds should have better things to do than play video games on vacation anyway, but I did let him do it when then younger two were taking naps....anyway, just thought it was worth mentioning....if I had known there would be a charge for it, I might have indicated it'd be off limits before we our arrival!

Neither my husband or I can remember the room number anymore....we were on the 4th floor right across from the laundry room and very close to the elevators....it was really noisy....I could hear the words of every conversation as people passed our room all night....the kids didn't seem to be bothered by it though, so maybe their room was quieter. I'd request a different location though! (Although I know that'd be a lot easier if I could remember the number!) On the plus side, we were very close to everything....just an elevator ride downstairs to walk out the door right to the pool or a stop at the floor above to get right to the lobby! The bed was also very comfortable too. We had a view of the boat dock for the boats that go to the parks.

The bathroom was large....there were actually two separate rooms....one with a shower and two sinks and the other with a toilet, another sink, and the standard bath/shower combination. The only thing we missed a couple times was having two toilets (our kids are always in a 'hold-it-until-it's-an-emergency' mode!) It wasn't really that big of a deal though. There was plenty of room in the bathrooms for everything else.

There wasn't a microwave....there was a small refrigerator which held the mini-bar contents....we did squeeze some things in there.

It really was a nice room, but I think I'm just spoiled because we stay at BWV at Disney and get a refrigerator, microwave, dishes, etc.

I hate to think I put a damper on your vacation. It's a very nice hotel, and I'm sure you'll have a great time!

We loved the pool....the kids loved the zero entry feature, the slide, and even spent a fair amount of time playing in the fountains. They also have nice big pool towels. The whole place just feels deluxe!

Have a great trip!
