Just got back from a quick impromptu trip to WDW for my son's 5th birthday. Overall, we had a great time. Some thoughts:
-I'd never heard of Jersey week until looking at the boards a few weeks before our trip. The parks were noticeably crowded.
-We booked fastpasses the night before, and were able to get Mansion and Jungle, which helped since later in the afternoon the waits were around an hour. I'm really glad we got up early (MK opened at 8am on Thursday) and we were able to do 7 attractions in a little under two hours.
-We ended up eating lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus right when they opened at 10:30. This was great as there were no lines to order and easy to find a place to sit.
-On Friday we started off at EPCOT. Got in line for Frozen at 9:19, and it was already posted at 60 minutes. We waited 50. Really enjoyed the ride, but not worth waiting more than 45 min IMO. The food and wine booth lines were ridiculous and we only waited in one, for around 10 minutes.
-Was able to get a fastpass for RNR at Hollywood Studios, but I think this is only because it had just opened up that day. Waits were around 70 minutes when we arrived for our fastpass at 4pm, and the single rider line was closed.
-Cast members were all friendly, and many of them made a big deal out of my son's birthday. We even got to score a fastpass for Safari, which is his favorite ride, and we dodged the 70 minute wait.
Knowing what I know now, I think next time we go we will plan to go during a different week.
