We were really nervous going into this weekend about crowd levels. We went in expecting 10's, and I'm sure it came close, but we had the best trip we've had as a family of 5!
11/23 - Arrived at AK around 5PM. Crowds were not that terrible. It was our first time in AK at night. Below are my thoughts on the various attractions:
Night Safari - We thought it was ok. Hard to see most of the animals. Neat to experience at night, but most likely will not do it again.
Dinoland - I am this land's top critic. But the atmosphere at night is so much cooler. Our kids really enjoyed the carnival games and rides at night, and so did I.
Pandora - Amazing! Really enjoyed walking around the land at night. DW, DD9, DD5 got in line around 9:30 for FOP, while DD3 and me got in line for the boat ride. We were off in 20 minutes. DD3 really enjoyed it, I thought it was a let down. Family loved FOP. We got a rider swap to use another day.
11/24 - Went to MK. Didn't do RD for the first time in ages. It was crowded, but not terrible. We used our FP's, and rode the secondary attractions like People Mover, Aerial, Philharmagic, Barnstormer, Tea Cups. Watched Elsa light the castle, which the kids loved, and headed out by 8.
11/25 - Did RD for FEA. Our first time on the ride, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. The RD experience wasn't too bad. Arrived at 8:30. On the ride at 9:30. We went to do Soarin, but wait was at 100 minutes, so we did Living with the Land instead. Afterwards, we decided to throw caution to the wind and do all 4 parks in 1 day! We headed to MK next and rode SM (waited 100 minutes). Then went to HS and used our FP's. Saw JBJB for the first time. It was just ok, no need for us to see it again. Then went to AK for, you guessed it, Pandora! I rode FOP and got another rider switch pass. Really blown away by this ride.
11/26 - Went to AK. Arrived around 11, used our rider switch passes for FOP. Rode everest, saw nemo show, then headed home.
Best trip we've had. I think a lot of it had to do with adding in some spontaneity to our trip for a change.
