Just returned from 7 days at the world and I'm soooooooo exhausted. I'd forgotten how massive the parks are, and how much older and (cough, cough, heavier I am now) and boy does it make a difference.
We had the standard DDP (1 snack, 1 quick & 1 table) and had absolutely no complaints in the portion size department. The portions are HUGE! The DH had some issues with the water, mostly at MK,,, and whatever he was tasting, I didn't taste, but the DH only drank bottled water from the second day on!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the little popcorn Mickey ghost pale, Sooo cute! I brought one home
Home was the Pop Century, Master suite, and I found it be wonderful. The DH and I only have a queen bed at home, and the massive king bed, spoiled me silly. We will be upgrading our current bedding in the near future, cause boy was that king bed nice!
I found the bed to be quite comfortable (to my surprise) but the pillow took a little getting use too,,, the room was always clean and tidy, and noise was minimal. We were on the first floor of the 70's building, so no pool, or shaky hallway vibrations. Food at the Pop is ahhhh, ok.... Its food, nothing to really brag about,, except for the cream cheese danish and the tie dyed cheesecake...
they are both very good!
We rode, almost every ride, and rode several rides 2 or 3 times. The parks were more crowded than I expected, but I remembered reading on here once that someone advised never waiting more than 20 minutes for any ride, sooooo, this is how we approached things. With a little strategic planning, and hitting a couple of the rope drops we managed to do everything we wanted to do, rest and not wait more than 20 minutes for any rides. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that fast pass! (oh, and we used a few late one's and the CM's never even batted an eye)
Ok, onto the best topic,,, FOOD!
We ate at the; Sci-Fi, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Via Napoli, Yak & Yeti, Cape May Cafe, La Hacienda de San Angel and Teppan Edo. Hands down, mine and DH's favorite meal was at Yak & Yeti, where we had the Shaoxing Steak & Shrimp (Skirt steak, tempura-battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stir-fried veggies, and chili plum dipping sauce). The sad part is the waitress literally twisted my arm to try it. Boy was I glad I did, it was amazing! We also enjoyed. Whispering Canyon Cafe, I've never been a big brisket fan, but it was phenomenal, best brisket, I've ever eaten! The ribs were a tad fatty, but the chicken melted in my mouth and the pulled pork was moist and flavorful. WCC also provides a fun (but loud) dinning experience, it was good time! Everything we ate at WDW was cooked to absolute perfection, we did make a few food choices that we didn't care for,, but that was NOT Disney's fault, it was just food outside of our comfort zone, and had a flavor we just didn't care for! You don't know until you try it,,, right!
80% of the CM's we encountered were pleasant and friendly, and would have done anything they could to assist us. NONE we're rude, but a few seemed tired or like maybe they weren't having a very good day, but they were never rude. No big deal, it happens,, and I'm not complaining.... I was super impressed with how serious some of the them take their job, its very impressive.
All in all we had a great time, and enjoyed our 7 days at the happiest place on earth, and I can't wait to go back!
Thanks for Reading! Please let me know if you have any questions...
Oh, P.S. We did have the dinning plan (but it wasn't free for us, we booked under a previous discount) and IMO it was worth every penny! Sure we can eat cheaper on our own, but I enjoyed being on Vacation and indulging a little more than I normally would... It was great! A warning to those reading, for the DH and I, who normally tip about 20% we averaged about $15 a meal for tips, a little more than I had budgeted, but the CM's deserved it!
