Just Back! 1/20 to 1/27

Thanks for the great report. How did you like Wilderness Lodge? We are staying there for the first time this fall and I am super excited.

We liked staying there overall, but I wouldn't say we were blown away. I can certainly understand why it is the lowest priced of all the deluxe resorts. Honestly, the room felt dated to me (I understand now from another forum that the wing we were in is due for refurbishment soon) and I didn't love the QS restaurant in the hotel (at least for lunch/dinner) but the pool was nice (water slide) and it was really nice being at a resort with far fewer people -- we stayed at AoA last time. We rarely felt crowded.

I'm really torn on whether or not to stay there again. Part of me thinks we could "rough it" and stay somewhere like Pop Century and be able to afford to go every year, then another part of me really wants luxury when I travel, and would consider going every two years in order to stay in Copper Creek with the much nicer rooms, etc.

We were there the same time as you and were surprised at how crowded it was. I figured that there wouldn't be many kids due to the fact that they just went back to school after the holiday, boy was I surprised. I thought it would be a slow time and I have to agree some of the FP lines at certain times of day were just ridiculously long. Had a FP for Buzz and the FP line was all the way around to Monsters Inc and snake chained. We rode People Mover and when we got off were able to tap our bands and go into the ride. I found that some of the people in the FP lines thought they were in the standby line and others tried to tap early and held up the line.

I also love Monsters Inc and give credit to the people who are behind the scenes as they do a great job.
