Ok. Here we go! Just back from a 10 day stay at POR from 2/13 to 2/23. This was the only way to ease my Disney Depression today :worried:

POR - Not really wowed by POR. We stayed in a RR. We had requested a second floor, corner room in Oak Manor. Got everything we wanted…but…construction around the resort was a bit annoying, not a "trip ruiner" but definitely noticeable! The resort is beautiful, lush with super-friendly cast members, but the busses were poor and the food court just average. RR is amazing first day, good second day, but overdone as the week progressed. Yee-Ha Bob was incredible. Boat to Downtown was a nice plus, but DO NOT rely on this, as you never know how the line is going to be. Heading back to our beloved Caribbean Beach next year.

FP+ - Not that bad. Easy to change on the fly if need be. Tiering at HS and EPCOT stinks (and will be changed). It was nice to rope drop in one park and have FP at night in another park (we had PH's). FP+ works best in MK. Magic Bands worked 90% of time…glitch here or there, but it was impressive. We were part of the HS meltdown on Friday morning ( a TRUE fiasco). Just know that if you are going within the next few months, you are Disney's guinea pig!

Food - Our wows: BOMA Breakfast (please, please do this) Garden Grill (great meal, great time) Ohana breakfast (so well-done) and Sci-Fi Drive In (a family favorite) Biergarten (excellent, but expensive) and Beaches and Cream (1st time…great burger). Our ehhs: Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package (just ok) 50's Prime Time (getting old) Crystal Palace (felt rushed…really rushed) Via Napoli ($120 pizza) Liberty Tree Lunch and Hoop Dee Doo (think we have done that one too many times). Our BAD: Chef Mickey's (done, done, done with this cafeteria) Tusker House dinner (omg…what a waste!)

Overall - Great trip. Had such a nice time, but we DEFINITELY noticed many, many lags in the Magic of previous trips. Cast members were hit or miss. Still mostly amazing, but saw many on cell phones, goofing off, and just plain miserable. Crowds were extremely manageable. I think FP+ is scaring some away. It was the quietest Presidents week we have experienced in many, many years. The biggest issue, by far: BROKEN RIDES!!!

I kid you not, no exaggeration, EVERY ride we rode either stopped for an extended period of time, had technical issues, or just plain wasn't running! Name it, there was an issue. I was blown away by the problems we encountered on rides. We are rope droppers and spend 12-15 hours in a park daily (once again, no exaggeration) and the ONLY two rides that we didn't experience a problem with was DINOSAUR in AK and the STEAMBOAT in MK. EVERY OTHER RIDE WE RODE (or tried to ride) HAD ISSUES. And, remember, it wasn't really overly crowded. I know that MANY people we spoke with in the parks encountered the same issues.

It's still Disney! We did have a great trip, but we will NEVER go for 10 days again. 6-7 days are plenty. :)

We were there last week too and we encountered quite a few broken rides on our Magic Kingdom day (2/18). The monorail lost power when we were on it at 7:10 am. Thankfully, we were only set back 8 or so minutes though. One of the trains on Thunder Mountain broke down for a while, Peter Pan was done for half the day, Carousel of Progress got stuck when we were in the 3rd scene (we sat through that scene 4 times before we finally got up and left), Space Mountain broke down while my son was in line at around midnight and was shut down for the rest of the night (park closed at 1 am).

We had good experience with Tusker dinner last time, and plan to do it again the coming trip. Can you share more thoughts on Tusker dinner? What went wrong, or why is it bad?

If it is really bad, we will try to switch to Yak and Yeti for dinner.

Just curious...What was the HS meltdown on Friday? I hadn't heard or read anything about this.

Cast members? On cell phones? That's a pretty much instant firing. Wonder how that happened.

So what you are saying is....it appears to be the perfect time for a price increase? :)

Today is day 6 for us and we have had a totally different experience with rides. Only 2 rides have stopped, pirates for about a minute and small world for about 10 minutes....which is pretty big I guess to have to hear that song over and over!

Other then that, I haven't even seen any rides closed due to breaking down. Hopefully I didn't just jinx it.

I'm sorry you didn't like POR---it is one of my favorites! I love the food court, I think it is one of the best Disney has! I'll take your spot there and you can have my spot at CBR. ;)That is my least favorite resort.

Once again just goes to show that not every resort speaks to every person.

Wondering about this one myself.

Bump-my imagination is running into overdrive, were guests throttling the "actors" in the street, turning the TSMM guns on the CMs? Did they break through the turnstyles? Push over the AT-AT? Come on, let us know....

Thanks for posting good to hear some good news, isn't there a trip report forum though that all these reports should be going in that people post?

I know RnRC was down for what seemed like a few hours on Sunday. Haunted Mansion broke just as I was about to get on the conveyor belt the week before. That only took a couple of minutes though and we were on our way (after some lady shoved past me and my daughter to get in the carriage behind dh and my boys :rolleyes2 :headache: )

I think there was an issue at HS last week with the systems needing to be re-booted. I think I read something about a power failure. If I am wrong, I'm sure that someone will correct me... :)
