I just came back from IOA, and let me tell you, it was a great day.
When we got through the gate, we headed to Marvel Superhero Island. Hulk's wait was 45 minutes, and so two of the people in our group got on while one of the others and myself started walking.
We checked the wait time for Spidey, it was 60 minutes. No way.
We walked a little bit back and found Dr. Doom to be a 20 minute wait. Had a little trouble getting to the ride because my friend was scared of the Dr. Doom character that was in front of the ride, but after telling her to just avoid him and to walk on by, we got on. It was my first freefall ride, I really enjoyed it.
My friend and I walked over to Toon Lagoon, we walked around and took a look at the atmosphere (Which, I gotta admit, I loved) and then we got on Dudley. Loved it.
After Dudley we decided to wait on the other two for a little while after telling them where we were, but after they didn't reply or show up, we got on Popeye. I was SOAKED after that. NEVER AGAIN, unless I have a bathing suit on.
We found the other two getting charicatures done after we got off of Popeye, and so then while they were finishing up, we went to browse in the Betty Boop store. My friend wanted a ring but they didn't have her size
.
After they were finished with their caricatures, we walked over to Jurassic Park. A couple of them stopped to get snacks, and then we got in line for River Adventure. The one thing I hated about it was how steep the drop was. It felt like it was straight down. But luckily, I didn't get too wet, My friends that set on the ends of the row however, did.
After Jurassic Park, we turned back around for our 4:30 meeting at the Hulk. Before we went to the check-in, I rode Storm Force Acceletron twice because of it's 5 minute wait. The others rode the Hulk (I chickened out) because it had a 20 minute wait.
After the check-in, we headed for Harry Potter. As soon as we made it in, the first thing we headed for was FJ. It was only a 45 min wait (Longest I waited all day), and while the others put their stuff in a locker, myself and a friend of mine had brought fanny packs, we waited. We were allowed on with no problems whatsoever.
FJ was my absolute FAVORITE ride of the day. Loved it so much, I wish I could have ridden it again. My only problems were the Spiders and Dementors, which made me scream so much. I hate the fact that Hermione pops up to take your picture during the spider part, but I was able to manage a smile, even if I did look scared.
After FJ, we looked at our ride pic and then went shopping. We went into the Owl Post and I bought Luna Lovegood's wand (We missed Ollivanders), and then we walked into Dervish and Banges where I got Luna's Spectrespecs and Quibbler (Totally worth the $, they DO let you see in rainbows, and they make you look like a "Demented, Multicolored Owl", as it says in the book)
After FJ, we went over to the Three Broomsticks to eat, but I was the only one with money
! I ended up getting my parents and brother to come over to the WWoHP, and they just stuck with me for the rest of the day while the group did their own thing.
I had the kids sized fish and chips with the frozen butterbeer in the special mug. Food was yummy, and the Butterbeer was heaven!! The topping was my favorite part, and the butterbeer itself was like a yummy cream soda-ish slushie! Lasted me the rest of the day!
After eating, I walked over to Honeydukes and got a Chocolate Frog, and a Cauldron cake to-go. The cake and the frog have not been eaten yet (Both are good as new, and sitting in my fridge in their boxes) but I did open the chocolate frog box to see which card I got. Helga Hufflepuff, who is ironically my house founder. My brother, on the other hand, got Rowena Ravenclaw. After buying the treats, we left WWoHP. I loved HP. My favorite place in the whole park.
After that, we walked over to Suess Landing, where I was goaded into riding Cat in the Hat with my brother, since it only had a five minute wait. That was a ROUGH ride.
After Cat in the Hat, he wanted to do the Suess Train ride, but while we were going into the queue the wait changed from 15 minutes to 35 minutes
! We had to leave at 8 o'clock and it was seven something, so we walked out of the queue when we saw the size of it.
After that, we left the park.
My shortest wait was 5 minutes for Cat in the Hat and Storm Force. My longest wait was 45 minutes for FJ, but again, that was worth it!!
All in all, I had a great day except for some group drama. I can't wait to have another visit there. So much I didn't get to see in HP because of how much I was rushed by my group!
