I'm thinking of geting 130.00 in ballons and a 80.00 flowers and 3 stuff animals is that good for a 16 year old i'm having it sent from the disney florist. and should i have them to just let them loss in the room? :confused3

Hi Daisy, first off let me say Welcome to the Dis :cool1: , I see that you are fairly new to the boards so you may not know this but a question like this should go on another board. This board is mostly to welcome "new disers" who are just joining the boards. You could probably put a thread like this in "Disney for Families" or the "Community Room". Check out the different forums. That being said, I think $130.00 in balloons and $80.00 in flowers and some stuffed animals sounds like it going to cost you alot of money (over $200.00) on something that will eventually be thown out. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely thought and very generous but maybe you could buy a smaller flower arrangement and 1 balloon and put money (or disney dollars) in an envelope for the 16 year old to spend in the parks as they wish. You can have an arrangement sent to your room (are you staying on Disney property?) from the Walt Disney World Florist: http://www.disneyflorist.com/ :flower2: . Maybe then the 16 year old could buy themselves something with the Disney Dollars or money that they can bring home and remember their trip by. :bday:

I agree with GIOny. At 16 I would have much rathered cash that that many balloons and flowers. A small arrangement with a balloon and maybe a stuffed animal would be nice. If you are set on spending the money (no gift card/cash), then maybe a nice piece of jewelry would be nice.

With having a teenage DS and DSGF, I can say that the Disney Dollars or money would be appreciated 10 times more than flowers. Girls like flowers but they also like to spend money (don't all teenagers and females?)

There is one thing, my dd when she gets money she spends it on me . i dont want that to happen.so besides giving money what would be the good thing to do? :confused3

She sounds like a sweetheart  ! Amber had a good idea about jewlery. You could get her a nice piece for $200.00 and she would have it a lifetime. You could even get in Disney ::MinnieMo . They have some beautiful jewlery stores in WDW (it wouldn't have to be Disney themed if you didn't want it to). Does she like to get her nails done, you could pay for her to get a manicure and pedicure before she leaves on vacation :cutie: (you could both go there and have a girls day out or you could get it in the form of a gift certificate). If this is your daughter I think a mother/daughter day out together is always special  . You could do a dinner and a movie, or a show, or just shopping at the mall for some outfits to go on vacation with. If you are going to be at Disney during her birthday you could go to a really nice restaurant and celebrate :cake: , or how about an illuminations boat ride :boat: and see the fireworks from the boat: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=560160 here is a thread about it. That would be very special pixiedust: . I've had several 16 year olds and believe me they usually leave hints  . No matter what you decide I'm sure she will appreciate it :thanks: .
