Day 5 - June 13, 2007

So another early day, we decide to hit DL again for early entry, I though we could only go in once but conceirge told me as a resort guest, we can go each morning they have it. :confused3 I hope they are right. So up at 6 rady to head out a bit after 7, skip concierge for breakfast, since we are on the dining plan we have vouchers for breakfast in the park, so we will eat later. We are in line by 0730 hours. Gates open at 8, and we get to the turnstiles only to have our tickets rejected. :sad2: I am asked if we used our entry already and say yes but was told as a resort guest we can come in again?? so he takes our cards scans them pushes some buttons and tells us to go in. Off we head to Tomorrowland, walk right on Buzz then over to Space Mountain, where I have to drag DS on, :rolleyes1 I try to explain to him that if he likes, Splash Mt, BTMR, MM, and the other rides he has done, he will lvoe this too. He is afraid of the dark he says, well it isn't completely dark I say, hmmhmmm hmmm hmmm, trying here, so he pulls away from me and runs and hides around the corner. I finally bribe him with a toy and drag him inside, once he starts walking he is fine, I think he is much happier knowing I get to sit with him on this one, unlike WDW, where you sit seperatley, that one I will not allow him on. I have to have control. So we walk up and right on. I love this, so much faster the WDW, since they slowed it down, stars light it up, the light effects are awesome and the music playing with it is so cool. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 2 thumbs up! Next the kids et on Astro Orbiter, then over to Snow White again. The gates are getting ready to open to the rest of the park, so we wait and head over to PoC,Like this one better then WDW too, we walk right on, next is Haunted Mansion, which is closed, we stood there for a minute, then they opened, so we walk right on here too, well after the little entrance. next we get fast passes for Splash Mountain, however I can only get 2, I keep getting passes that say your ticket was not used for entry today. :sad2: So I walk over to the attendant at the fast pass entrance, since no one is at the distributors, and she gives me one that was already handed into her. THANK YOU! So off to Pooh, cute, but I like WDW's better, where you bounce and everything. Then we have breakfast at Cafe Orleans, I tried the monte cristo, didn't like it, I bet the onle for lunch or dinner is much better, we shared some of the beignets,YUMMY!!! Off to use the fast passes for Splash, love it, the hill seems steeper then at WDW. The park is heeving now, so we head otu and look through all of the shops, buy a few things, get the kids ice cream, which DS wore more of then ate, :p and their fee 1st visit pins, yeah a little late, but for once there is no line. Hit some more shops in DTD, then make it back to the hotel some time after 2. Kids wanted to rest a bit, we have dinner reservations at Storytellers in about 2 hours, so we will hit the pool and relax. Opted for Storytellers, and cancelled Hook's Pointe for tonight, need something a bit less dressy.
Tomorrow we will be going back to CA, we have reservations for the Princess Celebration. So until then!

Your experience with Space Mountain (& your 6 y/o) was identical to ours with our 7 y/o DS. He was real nervous in line & held tight during most of the ride.

Afterwards; however.....he proclaimed it that it was his "favorite ride" :lmao: And we also didn't do SM at WDW last year for the same reason (single seat).

Sounds like you had a VERY productive morning....don't you just love the first two hours of an EE morning. :cool1:

Yes EE is great with out it I don't think we would have gotten anything done around here this week.

You said, "since we are on the dining plan "

can you explain that more? I thought Disney Land didn't have a dining plan? If it does we are VERY interested!!! We did DW in April 05 when the plan there was still new and omg it was like eating like royalty all week. We would love to have the same experience. Is it because you were on the concierge level at the hotel? ((having dining included would make that worth the extra money!)

Thanks.
Nora

Hi Nora,

In the event that the OP doesn't check often, i'll offer an opinion. The DL dining plan is NOT like WDW (which we used & loved). It's basically a pre-paid plan & if you don't use it you lose it. The consensus is it's better to tour DLR w/o it.

I also know that the OP did the Concierge at PP (we visited within a couple of weeks of each other & coincidentally we both did PP concierge). I put a $70-$100 value (per day) on Concierge depending on how your family uses it. Here is some info on PP & its Concierge:

I hope you get your info on Amtrak....i would repost the question on the Disneyland board (since more folks seem to read there). I seem to remember a couple of VERY knowledgable posters (who live in SD) who gave prices, times, recommended train cars & recommended stops, etc.

Good luck. :thumbsup2
