JUST ANNOUNCED: Forced 18% Gratuity at all TS REST in 2008!!!

The Walt Disney World® Resort will implement an across property policy change regarding gratuity at all food and beverage locations. Effective January 1, 2008, 18% gratuity will be added to all transactions, regardless of party size. (11/8/07 Disney Dining Experience Newsletter)

This is reportedly for ALL table service locations regardless of whether you are using a Disney Dining Experience card.

No. You missed a VERY important part of that announcement: It went to, and applies to, ONLY Guests using the Disney Dining Experience discount. See this http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1633420 VERY active thread, 'stuck' at the top of this forum.

So....why is this such a big deal? Don't you normally tip at least 18%? This just means people don't have to use a calculator. It is only a problem to those who claim they tip but in reality leave diddly squat!
