Normally we have 4 dogs (1 ours, 3 in-laws) and a cat with us so we rent a house. Next year it looks like we will just have our dog so we thought we might like to go with a resort with extra activities etc. The smoking part is DH likes to have a cigar now and then, especially on vacation. Of course he would never smoke in the room. Anyway I called the resort because there is conflicting info on these things. Here's what I was told:
You can have one pet per unit, cat or dog, but it has to be less than 60lbs (if your cat is 60 lbs God bless you! lol). There is a $100 refundable deposit and cleaning fee of $170. Now that is renting directly. I'm sure through an owner might be different except for the size allowed.
As far as smoking I was told it is okay on the balcony and in outside areas.
