My DD (10) is at MCO right now with her Dad on their way home. They checked their baggage at the hotel to be sent on the Magical Express and then the valet guy out front put them on a shuttle. I guess it was a private van shuttle rather than the big bus they came in on.
They arrived at MCO and the guy says "Ok, so that will be $45".
Long story short, the valet at the hotel is new and earning his ears, and is somehow really mixed up. Disney has a rep heading to the airport right now to pay for the $45 shuttle they shouldn't have been on. They were over the top apologetic, because now they have to stand there with the shuttle guy for 30-45 mins and wait on this. I am wondering if they might throw in a 'perk' of some sort of the inconvience (they don't plan on asking for one....just one of those things that happen), but Disney does seem to take guest services pretty seriously. I will find out what happens and report back, but just thought some might find this info useful.

I'm confused....exactly what do you mean when you say they were checking their baggage to be sent on DME? You don't check your baggage for transport on DME at a resort. You can check your bags with the airline off-site check-in desk, and get your boarding passes at the same time if you are on a participating airline. But, other than that, you take your bags with you on the bus.
Sounds like there must have been confusion all over the place. I would think that Disney would get them a refund of their $45 but that would be it.

It is possible that there was a glitch in ME and the use of the shuttle was necessary and proper. The only mistake was that the valet should have taken the $45. out of the till and paid the shuttle driver in advance.

Still you the guest should at least mention that "ME is a bus" pardon me "... motor coach" and finding out the whole story before "not getting into the right vehicle".
