Did this change? I could swear this event use to take place at the start of June every year.

It was, they moved it to August for the first time this year. My family used to go at that time every year due to vacation availability, I always enjoyed the parks, the people participating in the event for the most part were respectful and looked to be having a great time with their family and significant others.

Do you warn people about other events/weekend happening in the parks? I don’t think gay days brings anymore people than day pop warner

Except pop warner is also warned about on this forum and somewhat often. Reading the other post this was moved from its normal June time so it seems like a good call out for locals or those planning a last second trip.

That was just an example of an event that has more of an impact that gay days. But events like Halloween and Christmas parties food and wine fest have changed days and start days on an annual basis. They would have more of an impact on someone planning a last minute trip than gay days which has minimal impact on the crowds levels. It seems odd that to be concerned about the crowd impact of this relatively low impact event so much that someone felt they had to warn people. Unless there is another reason for the warning...

I'm going to give the OP the benefit of the doubt and pray she was trying to be helpful and informative rather than putting an APB on how to avoid gay people.

My guess is that most people won't notice any extra crowds and may just notice people having fun at a theme park.

Maybe give the OP the benefit of the doubt.
I like to be forewarned about conventions and tour groups and sporting groups as well as all the extra pay for Disney happenings that might affect my planning.
How many times have we wondered why the crowds?

Hope it is great weather and rainbows after the storms for all.
