We are just trying to find out when it will show up our 110 pt.AKV add-on. They said they will send paper work, but we want to make a ressie at the 7 mo. mark but ned to know if our points are there yet? Anyone know how this is working? Thanks in advance

your points should be in the system the next day. i added on twice and both times they were in the system the next day, so i was able to book

I have added on 9 times. For two of those, the points were showing up on DVCmember.com that same morning (in just a couple of hours). Five of them showed up the next day, and 2 of them showed up 2 days later. I guess it depends on how busy member admin is.

when I go in it should be there along with my SSR contract right? Maybe it is becasue I added on in CHicago and they are waiting to process the entire thing until later?????? Anyone else add-on Saturday in Chciago and have the points show up online in their account?

Your new contract will be listed in your accout, with a different contract #.
We added on Saturday after 3pm and it is there already. Our guide called us today (from her house b/c she was off) to say it was in the system to book tomorrow.

We bought them Sat. about 2 PM and there is still nothing showing in our account on the DVC website. HMMMMMM...

I saw another thread this evening started by someone who bought at Chicago this weekend. The poster mentioned that MS told them that it may take a couple of days for them to process all of the Chicago people from this weekend.

Sorry, I am new to the DVC thing. What exactly is adding on? It's not the same as buying or renting points, right? I am contemplating a DVC, and I am still trying to navigate my way around the rules, etc. Thanks to all you experts, I am learning a lot.

Also, we like to stay at CR. Is it really cost effective to do the DVC thing given a tower stay is 40 points per night during the value season, Sun through Thurs? The way I am figuring, I would have to get one with a large number of points per year, I know that much. And I have read that you get more bang for your buck by staying at DVC resorts. So is this really financially beneficial for me if I like to stay at CR? I can only imagine how many points per night they will want for the CRV (shhhh......yes I know, it's not official yet.........blah blah blah.........)

Thanks so much for all your valuable information. As I said, I am learning alot!

Serious answer:
"Adding on" is when you decide that the number of DVC points that you have are not enough and you "add on" some more. For example, my initial DVC purchase was 160 points and then I added on 100 points later. So I now have a total of 260 points. You can "add-on" points either at the same resort as your intial contract or at a different resort.

Answer for fun:
"Adding on" is what you do in an attempt to cure the well-known DVC disease of "addonitis". Addonitis is a very contagious disease that causes DVC members to decide that they need more points. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (sorry about that but I couldn't help taking a differnt approach)
