We have been booked into AKL under the UK Disney offers for late 2014 (Oct).

I had previously asked suggestions on here about split stay ideas - all very helpful.

I was about to change reservations to the Polynesian when I was reminded they're constructing the DVC villas next year.

I started getting my hopes up - should we still book it? I don't want to have the beach closed and noise during the day as I try to unwind.

Should I avoid this entirely just in case and cast my eyes to another monorail resort instead or do you think it'd be ok?

Grr.

We wanted Poly for next year too, but with all of the uncertainty about construction we decided to book CR instead. We are very happy to be able to try CR (and the great rate doesn't hurt) and we will monitor the Poly situation. If we get closer to our dates (August 2014) and it looks like the construction won't be an issue, we may switch to Poly.

I think that having a room we are happy with is the better option because if we get closer to our dates and people start jumping ship because of construction, the other two monorail resorts will fill up fast! I feel like, at least we have a room we are happy with right now. :goodvibes

We would consider the CR but it seems to be unavailable for our dates- seems we may have to consider the GF instead as Epcot resorts are gone too. Grr uk offer being popular!!

I have a Poly reservation for the last 2 weeks in August. I'll be keeping an eye on construction updates, if need be I will change to CR nearer the time.

I think we may just stay clear of the Poly. With the talk of the ceremonial house undergoing work and the DVC, it seems like a risk I'm reluctant to take without some deep discounting from Disney. It's annoying since staying at the Poly would have been ideal!

I would completely skip the Poly for the price and uncertainty alone of when you are talking about and keep it in the pocket for a different stay if construction is occurring.
