Just a vent...

Please let me start out by saying that I usually don't come on here to vent, I'm very blessed that I don't have a whole lot of drama in my day to day life.

But, OMG!!! Can I not find slacks to fit me!!!! I'm a size 2 in the majority of the pants. I can keep up size 4s and a few 6s, but I look like I'm swimming in them!!! I just got back from Wal-mart (I know, I know, but it's where I get all of my meds) and I could not locate one single pair of slacks in a size 2... any-where's. I guess I'm making a trip to Target tomorrow and hope for the best.

I know there could be worst things that could be going on. I've been every size from 2 up to 16 at one time or another. I know I could go to the Jrs section but they only had cargo style and that doesn't work for the office. If you've lasted this long, thanks and it's ok if you sit and laugh at me. I know it's a pretty dumb think to vent about, I just would love to have slacks that fit me. Oh, and I won't even get into the in between petite and regular length problems.

Anyone has any suggestions on where I can find some dress pants that won't cost a small fortune?

Kohl's, New York and Co, JC Penney, Old Navy

A friend of mine is really tiny and petite as well. She has difficult time with slacks. She has good luck at Kohl's and sometimes at Old Navy.

If you wear slacks on a regular basis, spring for a few good pairs and rotate them. The cheap ones do not last that well especially through alot of wear and tear.

If you are in between petite and regular, can you wear heels with the regular length or maybe flats with the petite?

It might be a pain, but you could always buy a pair of pants you like but are a little big and find a good tailor to fit them exactly to your frame.

Ann Taylor LOFT Petites.

I love getting my jeans from Old Navy. I just need to make it out to the other end of town from where I work to hit the good stores.

eat a cheeseburger.

Trust me, I eat, (mcD's in front of me right now :goodvibes) I don't deny myself any type of food, I just try to be careful with the sweets & carbs.

P-L-E-A-S-E ............ really?

Yeah, really! I'm diabetic and one of my meds' side effect is weight loss. Great in the beginning, but now I'm pretty maxed out on not being able to afford lose any more.(I have an appointment next week to adjust my meds again) Again, I know there are other things out there that are worst, for me right not its the weight. For last 13 years my weight has been all over the place.

I'm a size 2 petite and unfortunately, I've found that the lower end stores pants' sizes tend to run so much larger than higher end stores. I have very little luck at a TJ Maxx or Marshalls, but do well in Bloomingdale's petite section. I second Ann Taylor Petites (both regular store & Loft) and I've also had good luck at Theory and Banana Republic. And, I also have a great tailor.

I don't have a Kohl's near me, but I'm going to look online to find one some what close to try.

I do exactly what you suggested about the heals/flats, still have to hem the regulars and the petites look odd.

I thought of that, I'm going to look into it.

Thanks everyone for the ideas, I was just having a bit of a pity-vent and I work with a bunch of guys. Could you imagine trying to complain to them about this?? :rotfl2:

:lmao:

Sorry, OP. I know it must be frustrating. I, unfortunately, do not have your problem. I know Talbots have petites, but they're pretty pricey - good clearance, though.

It's ok, I laughed, too because I can put down so food, not eating is not my problem.

I would suggest the higher end stores too.
I also have petite friends who have had luck at LLBean.

I suggest a good tailor. And if you do find a good pair, buy more than one pair! :thumbsup2

OK, I don't have this problem. Well, I do. But only because I'm a plus size girl whose body is evidently not proportioned the way it's supposed to be (according to the clothing designers).

But I digress...
I think the above comments are rude and unnecessary. I think that if the original post was the other way around and people made fun of her because she was big and couldn't find clothes to fit, people wouldn't be so quick to laugh. It just struck me as rude...

Kohl's and New York and CO. both have short, medium, tall in their regular sizes. The shorts are not cut like petites, just shorter length so they might work. I am not tall, 5'4" but I have long legs and can't wear petites at all.

I think the difference is that society finds a size 2 to be way more desirable than a size 24.

I don't know about the size, but both my DD and myself can find clothes at Dress Barn. They aren't just dresses.
