Just a thought on internet access while staying

Not for nothing...(don't ya just love that saying). But if you stay at Hilton you get free wireless internet service. I am paying $99/night, and I get free internet, free bottled water. Seems as though if they can do it for $99/night we should be able to get it for the hefty dues money we pay. Just an observation! I still love my DVC, but.....

Yeah, but the Hilton loves for you to stay in your room and order from Room Service. Disney wants you out spending money all over the place.

I just spend 4 nights at a Hampton Inn in Duluth GA (Atlanta). My rate was $99 and I got free wireless internet, free breakfast and free "social hour" in the evening (including food & wine). The reason they do this is there are tons of hotels in the area and they are competing for customers, mostly business people. DVC really isn't competing for customers, it's selling itself.

From what I've heard, the internet service at Disney is not run by Disney. Another company came in and paid for the wiring and run it. I don't think Disney looks at it as a way to draw customers but as a service if people want it. I just use dialup, that's adequate for what I use it for (check e-mail, DIS).
