Just a thought about reopening...

STOP! We're NOT having this argument on the DIS DVC Boards. Any further posts over the value of masks(pro or con) and who is qualified to post an opinion will result in an infraction, and this thread will end up locked.
Sorry Carol I posted right before I saw your post and was hoping to settle things down. No more posting on this subject.-Irv

Here you have it folks... no masks for guests, just employees. And that’s probably union requests. Thank goodness! See you at wdw whether you’re a big government loving northerner or small government loving southerner (I know huge generalization, but I love you all)!

Wonderful! And makes sense as well the entire idea of 30,000 wandering around with masks at 100 degrees and bright sun ...... glad the people in charge know better

I read the link.

Few thoughts...., even when disney is at 50% , there are still lot of people. I have been early May, early Dec and late Sept the last few years. I have no idea what the percentage of people are in parks at that time, but it always seem busy.

Taking away room coffee makers and any real dishes, am I reading that right? How would that work with DVC. Also no self service . So no in room coffee maker and no selfservice. If we social distance, there will be a line three miles long to get coffee in the morning. If room service will only go as far as the "front" door, does that mean no more room checks?

Also employees over 65 are encouraged to stay home. Does that mean guests over 65 should do the same?

The way I’m reading this is this is just the mandate from the state, and not Disney’s rules. Disney can still impose further restrictions if they choose.

Perhaps I’m reading it incorrectly.

As @Maistre Gracey mentioned these are the minimum requirements Orange County is considering putting in place. I think Disney will be more strict than this.. I doubt they're going to open with 50% capacity. 50,000 guests in MK? Seems unlikely.. with 6 feet between groups, the lines won't hold that many people and the common areas would be packed. In any event, now that the government is putting out some guidelines hopefully Disney will make an announcement in the near future either way.

What I noticed is that there's no mention of the Disney transportation. It's one thing to be IN the parks, but what about getting there-the buses? Monorail? Boats? Are they going to limit the number of guests per bus? If so, I hope they're planning to have added buses.

You had me worried with the above statement of not being able to own a flamethrower. I was a little nervous so I googled it and was relieved to discover you can legally own a personal flamethrower in 48 states. Some of you might question why would a person need a flamethrower? Have you ever seen Red Dawn?
If you live in those two states you could always get a Not-A-Flamethrower! :rotfl:

For all of my fellow southerners , you are “free” to not visit Disney World if they require wearing a mask

So the family still has reservations for June. One of my daughter saw on Shop Disney that they are selling masks. So she thought she would buy one for everyone -there are 9 of us going. Than she saw the catch, will not be sent until after 7/24. Just like Baby Yoda, a little late on the draw.

Wow. I ordered the other day and my ship date is around June 25th. Must have been swamped with orders!

Until the Bob's (Iger and Chapek) make an announcement, everything is pure speculation

I have a reservation later this month, which I assume will be cancelled
Additionally, I have a reservation in August, which I am on the fence on (assuming the resorts are open)
It depends on what steps are done to mitigate this issue -- and there are may issues to mitigate, and some of them are very complex
