Just a silly little TR - Run Away!!

Looks like I accidently stole Nebo's joke.

Still waiting...

Efficiency in a trip report?

Chapter 9
We got up, did stuff, ate stuff, went to bed.
Did that a few more timese then went home.
The end.

Great update!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Things have been crazy busy around here. We took DD to see Thomas the train this weekend and I have actually had to work at work lately :scared1:

No worries. You're here now. How did Chloe like Thomas?

Your pics are beautiful!! I realty want to go back, but probably won't happen until DD is older.

Thanks again! Elle had to wait 15 years in between trips. :rolleyes1

I have to shop at Forever 21 for work. Between there, H&M, and Top Shop I am really not looking forward to Chloe hitting the teen years.

Start saving now... trust me.

Keep up the great work :thumbsup2

I shall endeavor to prevail.

I couldn't just say, "ok".

how funny! great chapter!!!

Thanks Smidgy! :goodvibes

another way you and nebo are alike.. he also gets bored at the beach! you 2 are nutz!!! look at the view!! .. NEBO: "yup, it's water, all right!"

Nebo and I should both go to the beach. We could ignore it together.

you and your girls did SO much fun stuff!!! I am jealous!!

We packed in a lot... it was fun.

Made these lemon bars last week before it got crazy busy... they were reallly good. Thanks to dana0801 for the recipe.

No thanks to the rest of my family for wolfing them all down so quickly that I only got one piece!

Just in case someone else hadn't said where it's from it't the animated movie of Charlotte's Web. The Goose talks like that (almost the early version of Ned Flanders)

Are they shaded and sort of a grayish color?

Of course not! :littleangel:

Actually, next time I go to the beach it probably will be book reading time. Prior to that, whenever we'd go, I'd be watching one or both girls like a hawk. Now that they're older, I can relax a bit. It never ceases to amaze me how some parents will let their little ones go in the water with little to no supervision. I've "saved" at least one kid that I can recall, because the parent was too busy yapping to pay attention.

Oh yeah. The kid thing. Luckily my daughter is a bit of a chicken and when she does go in the water, my husband goes in with her.

Maybe I'm hypersensitive about it since I almost drowned myself a couple of times.

Sounds like a couple good stories...

Nah. Of course if it had been a bunny...

Or a knight who says "ni."

I didn't say it was a Michelin rated restaurant, now did I?

Well no. But I guess I was expecting something a bit more Hawaiian.

Wait, I thought we'd established that we were alike...

Oh good. All settled then.

Betty and Veronica... what are the odds?

Oh my gosh! That completely escaped me. How cool!

Who wins?

Depends on where we end up.

I'm pretty sure that Kay is now out of the Justice period... so it won't be long before Monkster's moving onwards and upwards.

(Shudder)

Looks delicious.

These are one of my favorite all time treats :cloud9: I may even dare to say that I like them better than Zeb.... - Oh wait probably don't want to say that on this report - I like it here too much to get voted off. ;)

Chloe is obsessed with Thomas :sad2: She has the whole train table set up at home, and plays with it constantly. She told me at the end of the day on the way home -"Mama, Daddy we had a good day!":thumbsup2

Those look slammin (as my daughter might say). I am jealous now as I will have to wait until November/December now to make more.

I won't buy lemons at the store when I can get them fresh off the tree but I have to wait and so many of them went bad before I could juice them and put it into icecube trays to save for later use (yes I juice the lemons, put the juice into ice trays until frozen then just dump the cubes into a zip lock bag and use when needed).

I'll have you know, that the "this will be on your head" was an afterthought, not added until the end of the breakdown. And I had no doubt that Nobody will catch it, yet again,,, there you are!

Why yes it was Hodad's that we went to. It was amazing. Great food and great location. We had seen that episode the other night and we thought what the heck let's make the drive (75 miles each way glad i have a yaris)
Street Painting is when they close off the streets and let the artists loose with their chalk pastels. You may have gotten some of those emails whith the soda can,or the one with the guy who is dgging for treasure those are all done that way/ here is a link on ours down here. our daughter has been doing this one for 9 years now. her name is shawdell pickard if ya want to see her work. What it is for us is that we get to "assist her" that means working on background and fetching chalk and water and trying to make sure I don't accidently eliminate any toes or fingers on the (one time having a dragon with a few missing toes and she still gripes at me about it)

I just have to say, I am shocked, stunned and amazed!!

You have beaches in Canada????

Thonges, yes I remember!!

Great chapter. I feel like I am there with you.

ps. see how lazy I am with the quoting thing? ;)

anyway, back in 1992, our first trip, we took the boys (then 10 and 13) and went to the now defunct RIVER COUNTRY!!!

next to the watering hole (a part of Bay Lake), was a pool. there were 2 slides, but they went straight down, and dropped you, about 4 feet above the water, into the deep end.
there was a little girl, about 7 in line next to me. since it was the seep end, I asked if she could swim. "no, but I guess I'll just walk on the bottom to the deep end" :scared1::confused:
I couldn't talk her out if it. so I said, we'll each go down our slide at the same time (they were next to each other. sure enough, she started blubbering and arm flailing as soon as she hit the water. n
no idea where either her parents OR the lifeguard was, but I dragged her to the side, and got her out. never saw a parent OR lifegurad run over or anything! sheeesh.

Thanks Sandy. It's Hawaii, so every morning, they have big tanker trucks drive up to the shores and dump in blue food coloring for the tourists.

And here I thought the kids were turning blue because they were cold!

You're welcome. Planning on going anytime soon? Or just dreaming about maybe someday?

No solid plans yet. Had the thought to hit it for the big "five-oh" but we are already scheduled for Disney around then (to quote Laura; see what I did there?) Maybe for our 2014 trip, but not sure that a week will do Hawaii justice especially considering flight time. Really need to be able to do a couple of weeks. So yes, I guess we are still just dreamin'

I understand the 'banning'. But that means you've taken some in the past. Link please?
Interestingly, when I go to the videos directory on our media server, they are suspiciously missing.

You're right! It does sound exactly like that! I kept wanting to say "sorry" to it, every time I missed a turn.

Canadian!

Ah! So that's where it's from... how on earth did you rmember that??

Glad to see you're still the young, innocent little girl we've all come to know and love.

Oh yeah. The kid thing. Luckily my daughter is a bit of a chicken and when she does go in the water, my husband goes in with her.

Funny, the odd time that Ruby comes along... somehow it's me that has to go in the water, too. Did I mention that the water up here is only slightly above freezing?

Maybe I'm hypersensitive about it since I almost drowned myself a couple of times.

Sounds like a couple good stories...

If there's any interest, I'll post the tales...

Or a knight who says "ni."

Bring us... a shrubbery!

I didn't say it was a Michelin rated restaurant, now did I?

Well no. But I guess I was expecting something a bit more Hawaiian.

That comes later. Patience grasshopper.

Ni!

Betty and Veronica... what are the odds?

Oh my gosh! That completely escaped me. How cool!

Told you we were alike.

Does that scare you a little? Hmmmm???

Looks delicious.

They were!

You're treading on thin ice! But they were very good. Anything with lemon in it gets a :thumbsup2 from me.

Awww... Did your heart just melt? :)

Those look slammin (as my daughter might say). I am jealous now as I will have to wait until November/December now to make more.

Ah! Christmas time ony, treats? I have a few of those too. But thanks again for that recipe! Next time I obviously have to hide them from the rest of the fam damily. (just kidding)

Actually, I think that`s kinda cool. I could pick lemons off the tree too... but I'd have to get on an airplane first...

Okay, just a little shameless advertising - I've done an update!

And I've read it! And posted, too!

I'll have you know, that the "this will be on your head" was an afterthought, not added until the end of the breakdown. And I had no doubt that Nobody will catch it, yet again,,, there you are!

Good thing it wasn't a forethought...

:rolleyes1

Cool! I'd like to do more of the restaurants from the show if I get the chance. Some of them look pretty amazing.

I just have to say, I am shocked, stunned and amazed!!

You have beaches in Canada????

I didn’t say they were warm beaches, did I?

Thonges, yes I remember!!

You never forget your first thong, huh?

Great chapter. I feel like I am there with you.

Was that you? I thought I saw you stalking, er, um, I mean standing there.

ps. see how lazy I am with the quoting thing? ;)

Now that you mention it...

You’d think that someone would’ve noticed something… sometime? “Oh, look! Little Suzy appears to be dying, isn’t that cute? I’m sure somebody will eventually rescue her.”

What the H is up with parents expecting others to do their parenting for them? I’ve never understood that.
1. Where the heck were you when your kid needed you? And;
2. Why do you assume that I will do your job for you?

Sorry, rant over.

Grrr…

Okay, now it’s over.

And here I thought the kids were turning blue because they were cold!

Cold? You do remember who you're talking to, right? Hawaii doesn't have what we'd call 'cold'. No they're blue from trying to wash up in the airplane lavatory.

No solid plans yet. Had the thought to hit it for the big "five-oh" but we are already scheduled for Disney around then (to quote Laura; see what I did there?) Doesn't hurt to dream... and you just never know.

Interestingly, when I go to the videos directory on our media server, they are suspiciously missing.

How odd. Have you notified the police?

You're right! It does sound exactly like that! I kept wanting to say "sorry" to it, every time I missed a turn.

Canadian!

Sorry!

Did I mention that the water up here is only slightly above freezing?

I can imagine! When I was a kid my dad paid me $1 to jump in Lake Superior and I was fool enough to do it.

If there's any interest, I'll post the tales...

Please!

Just because one declines to comment on your schoolboy humor doesn't mean we don't get it, Nebo.

Some us have read those books.

Ah! So that's where it's from... how on earth did you rmember that??

Ahhh Grasshoppah a wise man (or woman in this case) never reveals the secret however if you can take the trivia question from my hand (and read the answer on the back) you have passed the test :lmao:

Actually I am one of those folks who has all sorts of random trivia running through my head. No one likes to play Scene It, Trivial Pursuit (silver screen edition) or any type of movie, tv, music trivia with me. I can't remember all of it and sometimes random lines don't mean much but I remember characters and movie themes and music pretty easily.

I read so much that my daughter all ways gives me rap about the useless stuff I remember.

Actually, I think that`s kinda cool. I could pick lemons off the tree too... but I'd have to get on an airplane first...

You let me know when you guys are headed over here to the ORIGINAL House of Mouse and I will gladly send a box of FRESH lemons from the tree to your hotel (Just remember that our citrus may bloom in spring but doesn't fruit until November/December) :wizard:

queenbetsey, those drawings are amazing.. how can we see which ones are your daughter's?

I wouldn't do it for less than a twoonie.

I'm kinda like that... except everything is "just on the tip of my tongue". I'll get a question... and I'll 'know' the answer... and I'll give up after a bit and as soon as I hear the answer, I'm like
facepalm.gif
'cause I really did know it... just couldn't retrieve it from the faulty memory banks. I usually remember stuff when it does me absolutely no good whatsoever.
