Just a Silly Little PTR! Updated 4/11/13

Hello and Welcome to my PTR!!! My name is Jessica Nancy aka Fancynancy on The DIS. I'm so excited to be going on my fifth trip to WDW this coming April/May. I thought I would do this PTR to help me pass the time a little until then! So follow along, post, lurk, whatever you're comfy with!

Cast of characters (and I do mean characters) for this trip are my daughter April and myself.

Also, my mother decided to come along this year! We are so excited about this! My mother has not been to WDW for 15 years and we all know a lot has changed in that time. I'm looking forward to showing her the new rides, features, etc... Also, since I am a single mother and it is usually just April and I it will be nice to have her take some pics of us together and it will also be nice to go on some of the thrill rides that I usually miss out on because April does not like roller coasters or anything that would make you motion sick really. Here is a pic of my beautiful mom with us.

I also have some friends that are taking separate trips this year. I like to think that I am responsible for spreading Disney Fever last year and helping them make their decisions to go to WDW with their families. Disney fever is contagious and it's going around! If you catch it the only cure is a trip to Disney World.

My friend Christina will be going with her family like one or two weeks before I get there. It's been fun going back and forth over our plans. Even though I tend to change mine daily. I like to think she has seen the crazy side of me before so it really doesn't bother her one bit. Here we are at an outdoor concert.

I was in my friend Peggy's wedding last fall and she decided rather than take a big honeymoon that they would take the kids to Disney for free dining in September. Here we are at her wedding.

Our dates are: April 27th to May 3rd. I was originally toying with going in September for free dining, however, I found a great deal on airfare for my dates. Flying with Delta from Portland, Maine to Orlando with one stop in Laguardia our roundtrip tickets came to $221.00 each. Not to shabby!

My itinerary looks a little something like this:
4/27 flying out of Portland at 6:00am and landing at MCO around noontime. We will be using the Magical Express this trip since I am directionally challenged this is perfect for me. Just let them do all the driving = no stress for Jess! We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside! I am really looking forward to this. I had originally planned to stay at POP Century but with my mother coming I thought having coffee in the room and queen beds would be nice! I have requested the Mansion Section and may or may not be kind of dissapointed if I don't get it. I really don't want Alligator Bayou! The first day we plan on just relaxing, getting some lunch at Riverside Mill, swimming and then taking the boat to Downtown Disney and shopping. We will eat dinner either at Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express. Did I mention we are doing the Quick Service Plan? This will be my first time with this. I usually do Table Service but am looking forward to the freedom of no scheduled ADR's this time. Will I like it? Not sure but hey I'm going to Disney so who cares!

4/28: Blizzard Beach Day! My daughter made me promise that we would do a waterpark this year. I told her she could pick between Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach seemed to appeal to her 8 year old self a little more. It looks like there are more kid friendly slides there. She is not a thrill seeker! We will eat lunch there and most likely catch dinner and an outdoor movie / campfire back at POR.

4/29: April's Birthday and Hollywood Studios Day! I'm really looking forward to this because I have never been to Hollywood Studios. I know Shame On ME! We plan on eating lunch at Starring Rolls and dinner at ABC Commissary. Also we will be doing a midday break so we can go back for Fantasmic.

4/30: Magic Kingdom! We have two days set aside for Magic Kingdom. We want to try Be Our Guest for Lunch one of them. We also plan on eating at Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills, and Columbia Harbor House.

5/1: Magic Kingdom! We will be doing midday breaks all of our park days. It's not for everyone but for my daughter she really needs them. It allows us to go back at night and see the fireworks. Other than that she would poop out around 5 or 6 and ask to go back to the hotel.

5/2: Epcot Day! We plan on doing Future World in the morning and eating at Sunshine Seasons, taking our midday break then going back and doing the International Gateway. Not sure where we will eat dinner. Probably the France bakery or maybe Sunshine Seasons again since they have a big variety of different foods. Plus I love the Land Pavillion.

5/3: Departure Day aka Saddest Day of Vacation! We will be eating breakfast at POR and catching a 12 ish flight back home!

Oh I know what you mean! I am always so resistant to change **Cough Cough Magic Bands** Why do they do this to us???

Yay Robin!!! I blame the cheerleaders. The two times we could have met up I was dealing with their rudeness at the Surfboard Bay pool and you were playing it smart and hanging out at the Baseball pool! Of course I had no clue

I think it was the cheerleaders fault!!! There were so many of them at the pool that I pobably wouldnt have seen you anyway. LOL

BTW, we went to WDW last September and it was sooooooo rainy every single day. Never again will I go back in September (even with free dining).

So I have been thinking about getting my daughter and I some matching Disney themed t-shirts for our trip! Yes I am THAT mom. My daughter is still young enough where this is not even slightly embarrassing for her so I am going to take advantage of that! I just swung by Walmart this morning for some groceries and was noticing that in the women's clothing dept they have Disney T's for $7.50 a shirt and lots of cute designs to choose from. I paid $35.00 for one t-shirt at Disney World last year so to me that is a significant savings! I'm going to bring her with me tomorrow so we can try some on! I'll post pics of what we get.
