I am fairly new here. I took my first trip to WDW in Jan. 05' . I must say that I was excited to go but was not really sure of what to expect. I knew I would have fun, but it was the best time of my life. I went with my wife, my two children (9 & 3) and my in-laws. It has been agreed that it was the most "magical" time of our lives. Now on with the point of this thread. While I was "Researching" all I could on disney, I became hooked on the web site "allearsnet". I must admit I was not aware of this wonderfull web site. Since I have joined your community I have noticed alot less negative entries, than I did on allears. We have just become DVC family members and are looking forward to are first trip "home" in Dec. We have had a hard time deciding where to stay, all the resorts look so wonderfull. What has also made it so difficult has been the lack of negatives towards all of the "homes." While on "allears" we found alot of negative comments on some of the resorts. But that is not the case here, how come? I don't want to sound like I am looking for a lot of bad karma, but I JUST CAN'T MAKE A DECSION BASED ON ALL THESE GOOD COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ARRGHHHHHHHH CURSE THIS WONDERFUL PLACE....... Oh also my wife has started yelling at me telling me I'm obsessed with this web site, Whats she know.

You occasionally hear bad things - but I think as a group this board is pretty much a pro-dvc group of people...

Welcome to DVC! We joined in 2001 and have had great vacations. We've been to all the resorts except SSR. In December, WLV is great since it looks beautiful with the decorations - but BWV and BCV are also pretty decked out too. I have not had good ecperience with the boat to MK from WLV (shared with fort wilderness so oftentimes too full to even board in am and a huge wait after fireworks). I take a bus to TTC and then take the monorail over...BCV and BWV are the best for location being within walking distance of Epcot and MGM. I really have a hard time deciding my favorite. Since DEc may be too cold to swim - that takes sime of the draw of BCV away perhaps. If you'll be in a 1 BR or bigger, OKW has noticeably bigger rooms and the points are less. It is less "themed" than the others, but a really nice resort - more of a residential feel. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of them!

Enjoy your trip! It does become a bit obsessive - I just got back from BCV on Tuesday - have a HH trip planned at Easter and a VB trip in the summer (which I'm trying to add a couple days in DW now...) It's a fun obsession though!

Kitts, WELCOME HOME! December is a very popular month for DVCers. Have you made any reservations yet? You may want to make a reservation at your home resort for the time you want. Then waitlist for another resort at the 7 month window.

I love the rooms at OKW because of their size but for Christmas I love my home, BWV. I just came home from OKW (short stay) and will go back in October (love Halloween). But in Dec., I'm taking a couple of co-workers to BWV. This is one of the perks of DVC. There's a resort for everyone.

I've not been at Allears but as far as negative posts go, we do have our share.

You got to have thick skin to post negative on this site. You really do not get a balanced view of things for that reason. A lot of people on this site do not have the experience of traveling and staying in expensive places so DVC looks like heaven on earth to them-thus all the positive things you see here. Also many are on some kind of WDW high, they just think the mouse can do no wrong. I have been posting on this site since it had just one forum, the situation used to be a lot worse, people just didn't want to hear the negative. They use WDW to achieve some high and hate negative posts. :flower:
