we go down every year and for some reason i dont know the answer to this, my dd lives in tampa and i asked her to check out wilderness lodge, which i have never seen but may stay at this year, her question is do i have to pass through the toll gate and pay a parking fee to check it out?

There is no fee to park at any resort unless you choose to park with valet (where offered). WL security is one of the tightest, but with a valid picture ID you should be able to get through. You might want to call the WL and ask this question.

Don't you have to pass through the MK parking gate before you get to WL, GF, & Polynesian? I know you can avoid that main causeway by going the "back" route past FW, etc. I know our car service always has to stop and show guest res or pay the fee to park.

Anyone else know for certain. I suppose if I drove, I'd have been paying more attention!

As you reach the MK "toll" plaza, there is a sign that sends Disney resort guests for the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge off to the right with the Disney buses. You simply drive through the toll plaza and go down a side road which is the road the buses take to MK. The WL is the 2nd right - it is well marked.
