Hello everyone. I have to first say that I am touched by all the remarkable stories that I have read on here. I can't believe how much all of you go through and still remain so upbeat. you guys are always there for everyone else, and it's awesome. Everyone was wonderful when I lost my dad last summer, and I appreciate you all keeping me in your prayers.

So, today I am asking for just a small prayer :goodvibes I have recently been having these really random shooting pains in my left chest, and I figured it's about time to get it checked out. Since I don't really have other symptoms, hopefully it's nothing serious- but weird pain does scare me nonetheless. Sometimes it shoots all the way to my back, and when it happens it hurts sooo bad to take a deep breath or cough or anything. Anyway, I am not a real "doctor person" if you know what I mean, but I am going to have to suck it up I think.

Well, that's my little tiny prayer request for the day. I am so nervous, even though it could be nothing, and I knew right where to come for support. :thumbsup2

Ashley, are you still having problems?

It's easy to get a little nervous about symptoms like this....especially if they continue for a while. Most of the time, it's nothing major but I can certainly understand the anxiety.

Let us know how you're doing.

Let us know how you did at the doctor's... in the meantime, keeping you in my thoughts...

I can do better than a tiny prayer request, how about I say one every time I think about it today.

I have a quote on my refrigerator from Mary Engelbreit that means a lot to me:

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength.

Here are some hugs to go along with the prayers :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Of course I will pray for you. Please let us know how you did at the doctor. :grouphug:

Hello everyone and thanks for all the prayers- and I apologize for not updating like I should have.

I just wanted to let everyone know that after bloodwork, andEKG, and a chest x-ray, my doctor says that my chest pain is nothing to worry about. The pain has since gone away, and we are chalking it up to a pinched nerve somewhere in the chest wall. I still have some weird "sensations" in my throat every once in a while, but we are thinking maybe a small hernia is my throat?!? Anyway, I feel much relieved, and I do truly appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers!

You guys are the best :thumbsup2 :cool1: :wizard: :thumbsup2 :wizard:

Hmmmm.. now I am not a doctor, but did they do an endoscopy or upper GI.... the reason I ask is I have reflux real bad.. I never have heartburn, I have chest pain and also some annoyances occasionally in the throat area....just wondering..

I am glad that the pain seems to have subsided.....but I would keep an eye on it... If you ruled out heart, that is great, but if it comes back, you need to check gastro... The first time I had that pain in the chest I thought I was having a heart attack, now when it happens, I suspect it is reflux and if it goes away with antacids, then I am sure it is reflux. It is a tricky one for sure to diagnose..

I was in Richmond recently.... I love VA and then I go to a bed and breakfast in Charles City, which I absolutely love. :)

Glad you are ok...I know it sounds simple but did your doctor ever consider anxiety?

I have to agree with Mackey Mouse. I have a very similar pain and started on Zantac and it did not get better. My GI doc thinks it is an esophageal spasm. Since I have started on Prevacid and it is gone! I still have to go through with a wonderful Endoscopy to r/o stricture.
