Just a Keepsake Floral warning-UPDATE 5/28/09

That is so true, I was charged storage fees because they claimed I never mailed in the invitation to include in the keepsake. I actually put two in the same box my flowers were picked up in. They apologized for the "misunderstanding"
My little sister is getting married in June, but is having her flowers preserved by Heller and Reid. I just hope she does not go through the same things I've been put through! Toni I would ask them to email you a picture of the flowers they had under your name. And I wouldn't want them to recreate the bouquet...it's not the same.

She was actually describing it to me ONLY AFTER I told her I wanted her to recreate my husbands flower because I forgot to give that to them. So I told her that he had three clear crystal mickey's on it. she said well we can create those but I can use the ones that are on your bouquet so I was like ok. So she said yeah you have the Mickey PEARLS so we can use them. I said I didn't have pearls. She said well they are like a light pink pearlish type of thing. I said no I had like a lime green crystal Mickey head all over. She said oh well this doesn't have that. She was like didn't you have a light pink rose bouquet with pearls. I said no I had a light and hot pink rose bouquet with green mickey heads. I feel bad for the person whose bouquet they had under my name. I don't understand how they can lose or mix up bouquets. its crazy.

ETA: I didn't want to send them pictures because I was afraid they would recreate the bouquet and tell me it was the original. They seem shady like that because when she called me up again asking for the pictures I said well did you find my bouquet and she said "well uh..yeah we have it but I just want to see pictures of it in its original state".

Sorry to hear about all the trouble you're having. They really are giving you the runaround, and I agree about not wanting your bouquet recreated.

I was going to use them to preserve my bouquet but now I'm not sure - it sounds like I might end up making a lot of transatlantic phone calls if something goes wrong.

I think I'll get a silk version made for my at-home reception and keep that instead.

Any other floral perservation companies besides Keepsake floral that someone could recommend? I was about to send my deposit but I'm thinking, Naahhhh....

Hi everyone! I just wanted to update this thread.

I spoke with Keepsake today. They have found my bouquet!

Apparently, my bouquet was under another bride's name. There have been mix-ups going on a lot there so they had to let an employee go.

I have a consultation set up for next Friday to discuss what I want. I just wanted to let everyone know that it seems that Keepsake is back on track! :thumbsup2

So glad to hear that they found it, what great news!!!!!! For all you future brides out there, please let your planner know ahead of time and also the person who is doing your flowers at Disney. We told our planner and Laura Kidd ahead of time and we gave our planner the bouquet right after all the pictures were done at the reception. She knew all about it and put it where it was suppose to go. So please let your planner and Disney floral know that you are going to do this.

GOOD!!! I'm glad they found it!!!!

Glad to hear that you will be getting your original bouquet! :goodvibes

But reading this thread made me think of possible alternatives for recreating your bouquet. While silks would be easy to do yourself, I have seen this one woman on the Martha Stewart show who creates bouquets out of a light weight clay material. While it would not be the original, it would be sturdy enough to store in a vase and keep out in the open, as the clay is actually quite strong. And the colors wont fade as silks may do.

Here is an example picture of her work, love it!

I will actually be making a clay bouquet for my friend's wedding later this year. I'll have to share pictures when I am done! :)

I've seen the clay bouquets on etsy--they are very pretty and amazingly life-like! I think they are a cool alternative to silks.

WOW that's really cool!

Hasnt it been almost a month? How can it still be ok? Are they making you a new one?

It's still ok because as soon as they get the bouquet they start preserving it even before you have a consultation. So it was preserved but stored under a different brides name. :lmao:

I had them send me a picture of it to make sure it was the right bouquet too. :thumbsup2

Oh and that clay bouquet is so cool!!! That would be great to carry on your actual wedding day as a silk alternative! I wonder if it's fragile though.

phew!!!! :) Im so glad they saved it! They should give you a discount for the mishap. Youll have to post a pic when its all finished!!

I know! Thank goodness they start preserving them asap. A discount would be nice but I am sure it won't happen. ;) I have to say though, they were very nice about the whole thing. The woman I spoke with, I think her name was Diane, she was very helpful and very apologetic about the whole thing.
