Hi everyone, just wanted to say thanks again for all the help with planning our trip last month! I wanted to give my .02 about a few of the GF dining experiences I had:

First of all, I should explain that I don't have celiac disease or a wheat allergy. I switched to a grain-free diet about a year ago for family health reasons and found out shortly after that gluten does not agree with me if I eat too much. I can have a nibble of bread or cookie, but more than a few bites and I will be very sorry for the rest of the day. I will say that Disney seems to be really good about cross-contamination. It's not a concern for me, and I told them so, but they seem to go by the book anytime anyone mentions an allergy. I had to wait about 5 extra minutes if I ordered a meal that was already prepared, but if it had to be specially cooked, I waited between 10 and 15 minutes. You may want to have the rest of your family order separately if they are starving, since they bring everything out at once.

Pizzafari: They had OMG pizza instead of the Amy's listed in the guide that Special Diets sent me. I was not on DDP so the price freaked me out (about $10 for a personal pizza) but it was delicious! Possibly the best GF pizza I've ever had. I highly recommend it.

Cosmic Ray's
: I wanted to get the BBQ pork on a GF bun, but the manager informed me the BBQ sauce contained wheat. I was kinda bummed out, but she suggested the 1/2 rotisserie chicken meal to me as an alternative. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were good and the green beans were fresh and crunchy. Since that meal is "naturally" GF, I got my food relatively quickly, but I still had to wait a little longer to get it. DH ordered the chili cheese dog with fries on a GF bun. He was stuck waiting about 20 minutes, I'm guessing because of his fries. However, to our surprise he also ended up with GF onion rings (!) and everything came in separate cups. They gave him the chili, but turns out it has wheat in it, so avoid it if you are truly allergic. He said his dog was great and the bun was very good.

Raglan Road: We didn't have ADRs and it was very busy when we arrived, but there was a separate line for patio seating. Since it was a cooler night (in the 60's), there was plenty of room and we had a table in about 5 minutes. I had a Magner's cider, which is one of my favorites. I forgot to order it over ice, but I recommend doing it. Bartenders tend to look at you funny for ordering it that way, but I had cider with ice in London and it really tastes much, much better. Anyway, we split the GF fish and chips and the GF onion rings. We loved it and it was a nice option I can't really get at home. The Irish dancers came outside for a short set and took kid volunteers on stage. DS3 is a major ham and immediately took the chance to show off. He got a cute little certificate with his name on it when he was done; I have no idea what it says, since it's in Celtic. :goodvibes

Babycakes: DTD was slammed when we went and I didn't get a chance to go into the bakery itself. However, we had breakfast at AoA to check out "Cars Land for poor people" and I bought the 4-pack of mini cakes to try. I thought they were OK, but nothing to write home about. Pretty much like any other GF cupcake I've ever had: good, but a little disappointing.

I also grabbed some Enjoy Life cookies and an OMG brownie when we were there. I don't normally eat a lot of prepackaged GF goodies, but hey, I was on vacation! The cookies are meh, the brownie is really good but extremely rich.

Hi, hope you don't mind if I ask a semi-related question? We love the desserts at Raglan Road, but it is way too much food for each of us to have an entree and then a dessert. We were wondering if you used the dining plan, would it be okay to share one entree between 2 adults and get a dessert and share the meal for 1 TS credit? We have never done it before and Raglan Road is the only place we are considering it because we usually don't get dessert after the meal. Did they charge a sharing fee? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

We didn't have the dining plan, so unfortunately I can't tell you about credits or whatnot. They didn't charge us a sharing fee and the waitress was really nice about it. I don't know about the other entrees, but the fish and chips were averaged-sized portions and if we were hungry, we would've gotten separate orders.
