Just a few questions for our August trip

1. We bought a Mac Quest for the last trip with our son. It was ok. He is much more comfy in his baby jogger, with snack tray. He will be 2.5 for this trip...is the baby jogger that much of a pain in the butt to fold up and take on the busses? What about walking around the park?

2. Can he see Fantasmic?? I say no-way husband says sure. I know my husband doesn't know what he is talking about, but I would like opinions...

He sat through bugs life, on my lap, no glasses...got a little worried but I was reassuring him the whole time, while husband pointed out the big spider...(what is wrong with him )


3. Should I bother bringing him into fantasia? Stitch? He did buzz lightyear ok...and the toy story one ok. Slept the enitre haunted mansion ride, woke up to clap at the end...try this one again?

we took our BJ city Elite last time - I will not go without it again! It is SOOOO easy to fold up. DD was much more comfortable in that then if we had something else plus the size of the shade is wonderful. I also have a jump seat & canopy so my DD3 can ride too. However she walked most of the last trip and think she probably will this time too. DD5 walked last trip too. We are not a commando family. We go at their pace and rest when they need a rest. It makes for a relaxing vacation. besides -- we will go back every year so what we don't see this time we will see next time.

Sorry - I skipped right over the other ?'s -- we did not do Fantasmic - my girls do not do well with loud noises. We did "It's tough to be a bug" - BAD IDEA at least for mine - the 3 year old was freaked and from thast point on if she couldn't see the ride we couldn't go in without a HUGE amount of coaxing. We had to get up and walk out of Philharmagicshe was freaking out. I would def. NOT go in stitch's escape - have you been in that one? They shut all the lights off and then you "feel" things. I heard they do not make it completely dark anymore but there is no way I am taking my girls in that. I would suffer a long set of sleepless nights due to nightmares and having to hold one of them. But this is just my kids - not sure how your are but you know them best. I would tell you DH that on the rides/attractions you disagree on - that if he wants to take DS on them then DH has to deal w/ consequences - That is our rule on vacation anyway. we did not do Haunted Mansion either - I said ok, DH veto'd me.

We've done all the rides in WDW with a 3 year old. She usually didn't wear the glasses for 3D movies. She's a pretty realistic child and we explain what things are so she doesn't worry.

We tour with our BOB Revolution Duallie. Big double jogger stroller, not really compact for bus travel. Our idea is this... it saves us so much headache in the parks, that we put up with the short hassle on the bus. Besides... it's my husband's job so it's easy for me!

I say do Fantasmic. It's not as scary as Bug's Life. Besides, it's outdoors and if you sit farther back it's not that intense.

I don't have a jogger stroller, but our friends that visit us when we're at Disney do, and it seemed "ok" on the bus, but a little awkward to get on/off the bus. We had a double stroller and that was fine for the buses (a sit-n-stand).

We took our 3 last year to see Fantasmic, 5, 4 and 2 at time of trip...all three LOVED it! They're asking to see it again for our next trip, but I'm not sure we'll get around to it again. Oh, and we did the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose (in case you're wondering, lol!).

I'm afraid to take them again, lol!

We loved Mickey's Philharmagic, none of us liked Stitch's great escape (I told my dh when I came out with the kids that it was waste of 10 minutes!), buzz lightyear and toy store mania were awesome (tsm is our favorite ride!). I can take or leave the HM, my kids weren't that into it.

I can't help with the stroller thing since we always rent. I can tell you that my DD tends to be a scardy cat and didn't do well with anything 3-D even at 6. Fantasmic is loud and the DD loved that one. It really isn't that scary, but there is the big dragon that Maleficent turns into and some scary music. I would pass on the Stitch thing. It is really awful. I hated every minute of it and had to hold my breath every time I felt any kind of puff so I wouldn't have to smell the horrendous odors they puffed into the room. This really isn't a ride either. You just sit in these chairs and watch this odd show, for lack of a better word. I will never do that one again. Buzz is awesome and totally fun so I don't think you need to worry there.

My advice is try some of the less scary things like Philharmagic before you do any other 3-D things and a less scary ride and see how things go. It he reacts well then try the things you are more nervous about, but if he doesn't do well with them then think twice about doing things like Bugs Life. I know my nieces and nephew freaked at that one and the Honey I
Shrunk the Kids, and they were all much older. His reaction is really going to be the best indicator for how much he can handle.

I can only give feedback on Fantasmic (sort of). Last August my DD was 23 months, and wasn't scared of any of the rides/noises/characters/etc. This January (28 months) she was scared of everything!!! Lesson - they can change on the drop of a hat!! I would recommend seeing how he does at the other nighttime shows and noises, and then if he does okay, do Fantasmic (I would hate to have you wait all that time and then have to leave with a screaming toddler). I remember when my nephew was 3 and HE LOVED IT!! (Sleeping Beauty dragon in particular). But he was never scared of a thing.

We saw Fantasmic in the summer with my DS when he was 2 1/2 and it was the thing he talked about the entire trip! He loved it and at that time he was scared of other rides once in awhile but not Fantasmic. I do think it helped that we sat at the back. (We did the Fantasmic dinner package which I would recommend for less wait time and seats saved in the back section which is still a great view but away from the direct action / sounds for your child.) When the dragon came out, my DS grabbed the straw from one of our drinks and pretended that it was his "sword" and he was "helping Mickey fight the dragon." It is still one of our best memories from that trip and he is now 6. Can't wait to go back this summer and see Fantasmic once again!
