It was more exciting when the Fantasyland blueprints were out... right now not a whole lot is happening in the world of Disney.

I guess once the expansion gets underway things'll hop again.

Anyone else scared at how many people of our generation want to be an imagineer?

Not to be pretentious, but I feel like I know way more about the parks and world of Disney than half the people I see who want to be one, and that's from dedication.

I'm going to a precollege program in theater design for 6 weeks next summer, because I know its my first MAJOR step in the process of my future career and its just frustrating to see so many people who don't have the passion want to be an imagineer.

*that's not directed to anyone here on this thread, just some people and some people on micechat

honestly, i think we will be the ones to get the closest to becoming imagineers. most people say it becuase they think it would be fun. on the other hand, we are actually preparing for this and I think we will succedd

right now, I am focusing on becoming a Show Writing Imagineer. I will attend UCF and study creative writing. I will enter the Imaginations competition. after college, and while i wait to be hired at WDI, I will be a cast member. right now, i am working on doing great in school and meeting people in the disney company (imagineers, animators). I write down all my ideas in a notebook...I am ready for this

Ditto.
I will go to Carnegie Melon's Precollege program for Theater Design next summer.. in fact I'm working on my app as we speak
I will get into USC or another California school with an excellent Theater Design Program (CalArts would be the dream).
I will enter the Imaginations comepetition.
I will perfect my French and learn a little Japanese.
I will either be a CM at Disneyland OR work for another themepark company to gain experience on my resume while constantly applying to WDI, begging and pleading ;P

I do know one kid who absolutely, 100% deserves to be an Imagineer, his name is Nautilus on Micechat.

I guess just find fellow college students who share your interests and work creatively and quickly, and fall into the majors (or belong to the groups) to qualify.

But for right now my biggest challenge is getting into a Theater Design program... I have to have a portfolio and do interviews Dx

Monday + Wednesday + Friday
9 - 10:20 a.m. Drafting
10:30 - 11:50 a.m. Technical Production
noon - 1:20 p.m. Stagecraft
3 - 4:20 p.m Costumes
4:30 - 6 p.m. Sound

Tuesday + Thursday
9 - 10:50 a.m. Basic Design
11 a.m. - 12:50 p.m. Scene Painting
2 - 3:50 p.m. Lighting Design
4 - 5:50 p.m. Dramatic Literature

^tell me that's not dedication I'm not sure what.
6 weeks of my summer vacation spent in school!
