Just a Dream Away- The Imagineering Thread*Are you curious, imaginative, dedicated?

astro orbiter (its sorta kinda similar so i just count it :) )

read wat?

Just something that I read on the TPAS board last year, I think. Don't even remember what the thread topic was about...]

Do you want a... Fun fact? Every door in Liberty Square has a number on it (32, 46, 12, etc.) and if you add 18 on the front, you get the year that door design was popular.

Yay :D
I love Liberty Square. Hence the reason I'm spending an entire day in the land... Breakfast at Sleepy Hollow, Lunch at LTT, and dinner at CHH.

One of the trees in Liberty Square is the Liberty Tree, with thirteen lanterns to represent the thirteen original colonies.
(Also featured in the movie Johnny Tremaine) Speaking of which, one of the songs on the loop is from Johnny Tremaine: You're a tall Oak tree and a strong oak tree, and we are the sons, yes we are the sons, the Sons of Liberty xD
(Which is sung right after the Boston Tea Party.. I had to watch it in 8th grade)

Don't forget the LIberty Bell in the land was made using the same mould as the original.

I found something bad at Tokyo Disneyland! Their fireworks show!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qziTfDhzvo

Not as huge as other Disney fireworks. All on one side for some reason. They had the announcement and song in English instead of Japanese. The song wasn't too good. etc.

I must say I like how they have actual Mickey Mouse fireworks at some point (kind of like the hearts or stars in Wishes). I haven't seen them anywhere else.

Read today they're putting Toy Story Mania into Tokyo Disney SEA. Good idea? Bad idea? Will they be able to make the queue more realistic? Will there be any noticeable difference in track layout? Will there be different games? Will the characters speak Japanese or English? Where did I leave my camera? It was next to me earlier, and now it's not? Did leprechauns steal it? Find out the answers to these questions, and more, in the next exciting installment of 'George posts on the DISboards'!!! But you most likely won't... But still look out for it!!!

Bonfire dance? I was expecting fireworks :p Yeah, i've been obsessed with watching Disney fireworks shows recently. I noticed last night all the Disneyland fireworks can be shortened to just one word... Imagine! Remember! Believe! Magical! Actually, I think the titles are just one word, and the rest of the title is actually a subtitle.

Check this out. It was a planned restaurant for Disneyland Paris, but was never made. Too bad, it looks awesome! Tons better then the one they're making now for WDS...

Also, Disneyland Australia?

Check out the article here (note, Disney has no current plans for this, especially since they're negociating Shanghai Disneyland, but you know, could happen)

http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2009/09/disneyland-australia-finally-proof-that.html

Why would they be discussing Shanghai Disneyland? Unless I'm terribly confused, isn't there already a Disney in China?

Yup, Hong Kong Disneyland. Also the last one to open. Not sure why they're planning it, but if you dig some digging around, I bet you'll find something.

Wait, I'm confused, why would they make a DL in Shainghai if they already have one in Hong Kong?

Also, I've been working on a rollarcoaster- Phineas and Ferb themed, of course, since they NEED a P&F ride... when I finish I'll try to post my pics of my ideas :]

Same reason there are 2 Disneylands in the USA? (well, one is Magic Kingdom, but it's still the same type of park...)

The rollercoaster in Grizzly Trails sounds awesome. When I first read the description, I thought it was gonna be like Expedition Everest, but with bears... Doesn't seem true now. Looks quite comical (like the track switching to a danger zone after a bear scratches it's back on the signal, or a bear trying to grab hanging fish by dangling out of a hanging mine cart). I think the only similarity looks to be where you go backwards at some point.

Yes they are (currently) planning to make a DL in Shanghai, yes there is one in Hong Kong. Why?

Probably more land then what they were given in HK, plus they don't have to deal with the HK strict government. (Yes, HK has an additional gov't than China, also it's own flag).

Oh and I finalllllly got my new Haunted Mansion CD in the mail. Its a little disappointing, but I love having the creepy music box music from DLP and the Phantom Manor Suite (which is spliced weird, but I love it).

Kinda like the Vatican City within Italy? Wait... Vatican City is considered it's own nation... Uh... Cornwell? No, they just believe they're seperate from England when they're not... Uh, i'll get back to a similarity later.

I heard it's not gonna be like the traditional Disneyland parks. Reminds me, I saw quite a few designs for Disneyland Paris which never came to be (like that awesome restaurant) and one was not having a traditional Main Street set at the turn of the Century, but rather one set in the 1930s. It had an elevated tram system! Oh, and one design for the castle was really futuristic. I should find the links again.

Well have you seen the steel-and-glass atrocity that was to be the weinie instead of a castle?

Yeah that got veto-ed. It's kinda neat but at the same time... not right for a kingdom park, you know?

OOH, wait, yeah I guess that's what you were talking about.

I do not like it... at all.

That's the thing I was talking about :p Could have been cool to see in Discoveryland though.

1930s Main Street. Reminds me of DHS.

Tram! They do have this tram in a Disney park, but it's in Tokyo Disney Sea.

The un-castle castle!

Different style castle, kind of similar to the one in Disneyland. Notice the tram again on the right.

Main Street and outside the park.

Adventureland & Fantasyland.

Discoveryland. Wish they did Discovery Mountain instead of Space Mountain. That would of been amazing!

Disney Village and hotels. Not too exciting... Actually, i'm glad they didn't go ahead with any of those hotels!
