Just a Dream Away- The Imagineering Thread*Are you curious, imaginative, dedicated?

That's cause WDI hates you George :P

They specifically plot against you to hold out on the best things til you leave. >:D
So for my enjoyment, I should aim to visit WDW a few months after the new renovations are added, and not during it?

I can't promise it'll be of the whole ride but I will film!

OOO I can't wait to see it.
Yay video!

Probably :p

I know I'll constantly be looking it up, but I wish I could see it un-spoiled when it's completed.

(Impossible for me xD)

Well, you'll most likely see Star Tours spoiler free, you know, if you don't watch a video of the ride.

True, I've only seen that 30 sec clip.

I'm actually pretty good about some things.. like I never watched a POTC DL version or Remember... Dreams Come True or Parade of Dreams video..

Although the latter two I'm considering, because they're supposed to be the best, and they're gone.

Remember,,, Dreams Come True was really awesome. Is Tinkerbell supposed to move like she does? Not like the one in WDW which is on a straight line, but this looked like she was hanging from a moving crane, it was awesome.

Yeah, she's got a moveable harness from the Matterhorn to somewhere around Frontierland, so she can fly back and forth.

Now why can't they do that at WDW? I guess because the castle is technically the highest point in the park, but can't she fly around the castle or something?

So i dont have the desire to be an Imagineer but does it count that i want to be a character preformer!

but i do love the Imagineering process:love:

I don't really have much of a desire to be an imagineer (unless what I learn can connect me to it :p) but I do love all the details, stories, etc. that makes Disney that much greater.

That's an amazing backstory. Any idea what other rides incorporate into the story? I read Tower of Terror in TDS, Adventurers Club, Jungle Cruise, and the new Mystic Manor in HKDL.

Seriously George do the KTTK tour next time you go to WDW if you haven't done so already. I learned SOOOO much!!!

Shall do :teeth:

Random thing of the day - In Pirates of the Caribbean, you can find a family shield in the scene at the end with Jack Sparrow that has the name Marco Daviso on it. It's the signature of imagineer Marc Davis. Imagineers can't sign their work, so they put different things into the ride as their signature. That's the closest anyone's gotten to putting their name onto a ride. An extra signature from him is also on the shield in the form of chess pieces.

Well.. if you include that you have to include all the HM tombstones too :p

Master Gracey = Yale Gracey
Frances Xavier = X. Atencio

Plus theres a ton of imagineer names written in "Maraglyphics" in Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.

AT PEACEFUL REST LIES BROTHER CLAUDE planted here beneath this sod
(Claude Coates - Art Director, Master of Paint Effects and Lighting)
IN MEMORY OF OUR PATRIARCH, dear departed Grandpa Marc
(Marc Davis illustrator, idea man, funniest Imagineer)

I *think* but I'm not sure that George Hightower (aka one of Connie-the-murdering-bride's husbands from the HM) is vaguely related to Harrison Hightower III.

Now, that doesn't connect George with SEA but it's still interesting.

Well, Marc Daviso is just one letter away from Marc Davis, so yeah...

Who knows more interesting backstories for rides most people don't know?

True...

Umm... I assume you know the Pirate's general storyline? (at least in the proper full-length version?)

Cursed treasure..blahblahblah?

If it's the same (or similar) to the movie then yes, if not then no...

Yeah, sorta. Except I think they just ended up dying from the cursed treasure, also they get drunker as the ride goes on. (start attacking each other).

TBH I'm not well versed in POTC rides xD

I hope the "Star Tunnel" music will still be played on Space. I hear it's still being played on the TTA as it goes through.
