So I was just sitting here watching the cake boss on TLC and he has been doing the food and wine festival. So this episode is all about Disney! Its getting me excited. I was looking over my list for camping, I saw a thread a little bit ago about buying two tarps one for under your tent and one for over top I guess I'm a little confused about how to do that. How would we do this? We have already sealed are tent twice. How many of you actually tent camp? My three year old is so excited im a little nervous. He is a great kid but all kids have there moments. Sorry Connor is with his father and My husband is at work so I have nothing else to do. lol

You put the tarp under your tent to protect it from any sharp rocks or sticks. The tarp should be just a little smaller than the footprint of your tent. If its larger it will collect rain and channel it under your tent.

You shouldn't need a tarp over your tent if its designed right.

My seal is getting a bit old, and the last time we stayed there, had a huge mess on our hands.
First off we were in a premium site, all concrete, with a tent.
Secondly, I sat the AC on the concrete section too, so all the water from it dripped to the concrete. Since it's pourous, it just kept going further and further under the tent.
After about 3-4 nights of sleeping on top, it finally soaked through the tent and all the bedding. And was a huge stink. I use about 20 million comforters to create a bed, and it was a pain to get all cleaned up. But the tent itself cleaned nicely with a bit of lysol and a rag. Then we slid the tent and propped it up to dry and the ground dried up during the day.

So if you're on a sand pad, and there's a decent rain during the afternoon, that extra tarp will prevent the tent from sucking up the moisture. And with our afternoon storms, you can never be too cautious with the protection.
