Been planing for about a year now and its only about a month left before me and my GF venture to WDW. We have everything from resort (Contemporary), airline, ADRs, theme park strategies, extra activities we will be doing, and transportation figured out. We also have a packing list and a schedule planner that I made in Excel detailing the itinerary of our 14 days there. I also picked up the Ultimate Guide To WDW to have with us during our trip.

So my questions is: What is the next step? Do people just stop planning after all these things are done or when they are on the final stretch? Any suggestions or any final tips before we leave? Did I finish all the things that needed to be done?

I would think people would just scour the websites such as these discussion boards, the official website, wdwinfo, touringplans and easyWDW. What would you do if you're at this step?

I'm 10d ahead of you and this is pretty much I've been doing. Plus I have been trying to book a Sci Fi lunch. I have really enjoyed the easyWDW blogs. Real good touring advice! Enjoy the ride through the countdown.:wizard:

Do you have a list of things to do at home before you leave? We have a list of things like - lock all doors and windows, put mail/Netflix on hold, unplug everything, run dishwasher, do laundry (don't want to come home to dirty dishes and overflowing baskets of dirty clothes :rolleyes1) etc.

Other than that you seem pretty set :thumbsup2 Now just take a look atthe trip report section or go to EasyWDW - it is fun to see all the reports. Another nice site is disney-pal dot com, they have some great photos and background info on the rides, restaurants, shops etc.

Make sure you have a list of all your ADRs with you - just in case you get to the podium and they can't find you ;)

We are 38 days out and I continue to watch the boards, check flights to make sure there are no changes, look over my itinerary, throw those little things I don't want to forget into a box in my closet, ask my family many times if they are ok with the dining plans, wait for my disney packet to arrive, and read about and look at pictures of our resorts (even though we've stayed there several times). It keeps me busy until our trip.

I think we have 10 days left before we leave for WDW. I am planning a surprise for DD and need to do some shopping. Maybe you could plan some surprise for your GF.

Yes, i forgot that i will need to print out and organize all the information from the research i have. Probably wont do chores till one week away from the trip. thanks for the tips. feel free to weigh in if you have any more suggestions.

I have also been rereading all the the threads that I created and answered by the people on these boards, and those I believe are the most important information to me.

Wow I'm 25 days out. I make all my ADRs at 180 days out, but otherwise don't plan anything. I know I'm going over to Universal a day or maybe two, but otherwise play it by ear. Granted as an AP holder I go to WDW 4-6 times a year, so am good at making changes on the fly. Am I the only one that likes to take the time to just smell the roses and search out the small details? I can't believe I am the only one that goes down there without a itinerary.:confused3 I just can't see rushing from one activity to another. I never use a packing list. I always pack the weekend before I leave but thus far have never forgotten anything I needed. Even though I always make ADRs 180 days out, I know I won't be keeping all of them. Every single trip I change them on the fly. I also have another trip planned for Oct 27th-Nov 4th. I also have ADRs for that trip and know we'll be spending five nights at WDW and two nights over at Universal,, but otherwise plan to play it by ear. I like to make morning EMHs when the parks are empty and then when the parks get crowded I go back to the resort or go to another park. I seldom do evening EMHs, because they are alot more crowded than they used to be, so not worth it anymore. I know which rides get crowded the fastest and know to do them first thing. I just don't see the need for a detailed intinerary and always just play my park days be ear.

That's a very good luxury to be able to go there that much and to get to know the place by heart. We take things at slowly at Disneyland since we live like twenty miles away from there and this is our only wdw trip so I wanted to make the best out of it lol. Just gonna go with a plan about which days to visit which park and then play everything by the ear.
