My wife and I really enjoyed this movie. It was the fun, popcorn movie it was meant to be. There were little things from the actual ride that were fun to see and hear in the movie. There were also little nods to other previous Disney movies. Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt had excellent on-screen chemistry.

I really enjoyed it too. I had been looking forward to it for a long time and it didn't disappoint. It had enough jokes from the ride to keep it true to the mythos, and also that cool high-adventure vibe of like POTC or the Brendan Fraser Mummy series (which I also love). The Rock and Emily really did have good chemistry and lit up the screen together.

I am hoping the film somehow lands on its feet and we can get more, though it's a tough market right now. It's not doing horribly, but it is probably under expectations so we'll have to see.

Really enjoyed this movie!! See it in 3D

My DS11 loved how the boat ride and the jokes were just like at the park

We started to watch it at home and about 10 mins in I realized it was going to be a good 3d movie ... so we grabbed our things and caught a 3d movie that was starting in 30 mins near the house.

( we watch most movies on Cinema so I did not pay at home first)

Disney certainly has high hopes for the Jungle Cruise movie because there seems to be a lot of promotion for it. Take for instance if you eat at Applebee's when you buy a meal you can get a $25 voucher for tickets for the movie and you can use it at the theater. But I think part of Jungle Cruise's success will be Dwayne Johnson because it seems that when you put him in a Disney movie he makes it a surprise hit. After all he played Maui in Moana and was in The Game Plan too

We love "The Game Plan' !!! Every time we have cinnamon, we do the allergy scene from the movie !!

We really enjoyed it too. Basically Pirates of the Caribbean meets Indiana Jones, with a dash of The Mummy. But that's what we were expecting and it was great. Love adventure films like this. Didn't think it quite met the heights of the original Pirates of the Caribbean but was still great.
I'm just curious to see where they take sequels for a franchise. Could see this much more expansive as a series than staying right at Jungle Cruise. There is still potential for them to do something with rivers in other countries (Nile with mummies and other creatures, Cambodia with temples, etc.) but could see this cast work well for other general adventure films too based on other attractions like an Expedition Everest movie. Imagine they will keep going with river based stuff for sequels but could see it being so much more.
Do wonder if the society from the film is supposed to be SEA and could start a cinematic universe too.

I do hope they do more, and I think a sequel should be set on the Nile with some of the African scenes included. A sequel is tenuous at the moment though as the numbers aren't great. There should still be a release in China at some point so that could help.

I would love an S.E.A. universe of movies (technically Indiana Jones is part of that, as is the Rocketeer if you REALLY wanna make some tenuous connections 😁 ), but I think "The Society" depicted in the movie is in fact the Royal Society of London, not the S.E.A.

Yea, I'm assuming it's the Royal Society. But they did leave it vague enough, and as far as i recall never showed any emblems or logos for the name that they could make it be SEA. That or they have Lily and Frank start/join SEA after being rejected for so long by the Royal Society and not wanting to associate with them now.

There was a plaque on the door, but I didn't catch what it said - there was something about "society" on it though. I'll have to watch it again.

I wonder what the plan is with / of Jack Whitehall. He was in Frozen (got cut), then the Nutcracker, now Jungle Cruise.
I love him as a comedian, but I wonder why he gets added to the stable of Disney actors.

We just watched this tonight, and I thought it was super cute! Had pretty low expectations going in as Jungle Cruise the ride is just ok for me. But really enjoyed it, looking forward to the ToT film whenever that comes out

Hubby and I watched the JC movie last night. Like many of you we had pretty low expectations. We were just looking for some Friday night brain candy.

We ended up being very entertained! Very Disney-like, kinda slap-sticky…fun visuals. Thought The Rock and Emily Blunt played their characters with good chemistry and humor.

Watched it in theatres opening weekend and lived it and again on Disney+ today. It did lend well to being viewed in a theatre I thought, but was super enjoyable the second watch through at home.

I think all of the characters were excellent with the exception trader Sam - I felt they could have done more with her.

Also - Ryno made a good point on the DIS Unplugged episode discussing Jungle Cruise: Jack Whitehall’s Character coming out scene with Skipper seemed like it was designed so it could easily be edited for certain foreign markets. So that’s not ideal.

But overall it was a 10/10 for me. Super enjoyable adventure movie that is silly enough to put a smile on your face but not POTC 12 eye roll silly.

I felt that it was far too CGI heavy. I was fast-forwarding through many of the slower parts, so I 'm sure I missed something about the significance of the purple dolphin things (which even if they tried to make them significant somehow, they could have done without them). And yes, I get that it's supposed to be the jungle. But those little CGI frogs?? Then in a few parts the entire CGI scene, boat, background, and all really took me out of the film, particularly the part where they drained the area around where they were heading.

My wife pointed out that Blunt's character who was scared to death of swimming spent quite a bit of time trapped under the water and had zero issue taking care of what she needed to do. Oh, and hey, Rock? Blowing into someone's mouth gives them carbon dioxide, not oxygen. And once he expelled his lungs, where exactly did he refill? Neither of them resurfaced to take in air.

I find it a little comical that in a fictional movie, where dead people come back to life when touched by water and boats somehow have enough power/maneuverability to not get crushed by the waterfalls - the concern is how long someone can stay under water?! Sorry, that just struck me as funny!

I think all movies, especially those released on streaming platforms at the same time (or nearly) are going to be "tough sells " as BrianL pointed out. Most of us want to go to a theater but are still a little leary. Yet we are finding hard to justify $35Cdn price to stream, even though that would be what we would probably spend at the cinema. Also I am sad to see a "big screen" movie on a little screen.
P.S. I haven't seen it yet. Saving it for a rainy day. Haven't seen Black Widow yet either. I did see the Jungle Cruise board game on Amazon though, which I am anxious to buy.

The plot was ridiculous, but you have to think that the unrealistic is just that.... not to be believed. But when the realistic is completely improbable...??

Yea I think it's hard to justify the price for one or two people. If it's a family could be worth it when you'd be saving money on the tickets, plus having something new to keep kids occupied. Especially when it will be free just a few months later on. We have the AMC A-List so we go to the theatre whenever possible. The big screen experience can't really be recreated at home so even matching out on the price doesn't really make up for the smaller screen. (Though the lack of disruptions from other patrons at home is a plus).

I love to see movies on the big screen. I think that's why I haven't watched some of the new releases. Just cant wait too long or they might be gone!
