This may have been discussed before, but I was wondering why JC is closed. When we were there at the beginning of Feb it was closed and I was there Friday for the day and it was still closed. Does anyone know why? Just curious! :rolleyes1

As of a week ago you could see the boats in behind the parking lot next to the Indy building when leaving the Downtown Disney station on the Monorial. It is a scheduled refurb/maintenace, the re-opening dates are posted somewhere on their site. I think it should be gearing up to open soon as it is not a long down time. Typical stuff I imagine like repainting, draining and cleaning the waterpath, animatronic maintenance and plantlife rejuvination. Jungle Cruise rocks! Even if you get a silly spieler!

I think if they were changing anything big we would have heard about it, as DoomBugger said it's probably just painting, cleaning and stuff like that. Nothing too exciting I bet. LOL

it was only a few years ago that they did extensive refurbs on it, wasn't it? back then the waterfall fell and all that.

It looks like it is scheduled to re-open March 8th, if anyone was curious.

They are just cleaning it up a bit. My DD8 was bummed, it's on her faves and we couldn't ride it last weekend. But, it gives her something to look forward to next trip. :) We were able to peek behind the mesh curtains when we were exiting Indy, there is water in the river but it's lower than normal. Not sure exactly what they are doing but nothing major.
