Does WDW to insert another attraction in this space? Sure its a classic but you can see the real thing at Animal Kingdom...

I doubt it. The next movie series is going to be based on the Jungle Cruise. I love that ride, especially at night. It seems totally different at night since you can't see anything till the they turn the light on.

We were at WDW last week (Dec 1 thru 9) for our 4th visit. Our DS is now 8, and Jungle Cruise has been one of his favorite attractions. We wondered this trip if he'd outgrown it, but no, he wanted to ride it again (and again, and again).

The first trip through was what we'd expected -- a bored CM and the precisely same tired jokes. BUT, the second and third times -- late in the day, I might add -- the CMs were SO good that DH and I were dying with laughter -- and again, remember, we've probably ridden this thing more than 20 times.

Really -- the second great CM did things I've never, ever heard before -- the guy should be a stand-up somewhere. Since we've come home, one of us can repeat just a part of a line from this guy and we all start laughing. Moral of the story: don't give up on the Jungle Cruise! In the right hands, it still has the makings of an excellent attraction, especially with the animatronics as opposed to real creatures.

we were there about 2 weeks ago and went on the cruise..yeah its pretty cheesy but out guide was actually pretty funny..it should be updated though, i agree.

I remember riding the Jungle Cruise at night, which is something else.

Did anyone else have this certain CM, who would take shots at It's a Small World at the end of the ride? I thought it was really funny, even though I can't remember what he said exactly.

We rode it twice during our last visit. Both CM's were great. The guy made jokes about all the gift shops Disney has and the girl hit on DH.

It's a classic and I hope they never get rid of it.

There are no plans in the works to eliminate the Jungle Cruise. Though not as popular as 20 years ago, the lines are still long. Kids love it. I thought it was a bore last time with just the wife and I, but our DD3 absolutely loved it. it is one of the three rides she refers to in her daily comment that we should return to the world.

"We go on an airplane and go see Turtle Crush and Lion King and Jungle Cruise. We go Disney....too far!" - DD3's daily plea

I think eliminating the Jungle Cruise would make Walt turn in his grave. Same with any of the classics - Haunted Mansion, CoP, POTC, etc.

We love the Jungle Cruise. The last time my DH and DS rode my DS got to drive the boat. He loves that ride.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen, you have been my best crew...since my last voyage of Disney's Jungle Cruise.

Please exit to my left onto the dock. If you exit to my right you will get wet.

Please remember to take all small children by the hand as you leave the boat. Any left behind will be take to It's a Small World where their feet will be bolted to the floor and they'll be taught to sing "It's a Small World" in 29 languages.

All items left on board will be taken to Disney's lost and found. Unclaimed items will be returned to me and you may get them back by bidding on them next week on e-bay. Yes, I am a college student in need of money.

Also, as you exit the boat lower your head and watch your step and if you don't, lower your voice and watch you language...This is a family ride after all.

If you enjoyed your trip on Disney's Jungle Cruise, my name is Minnie's Mate and if you didn't, my name is Donald Duck.

i love that ride.
the boat drivers are always so funny.
it makes me smile :goodvibes
"listen when i ask you 'how was your trip' cna you all do me a favor and boo really loud? because im trying to get transfered over to the tea cups..its really a much easier job....'How many?..how many?...How many?...yes you can have the pink cup"
that made me giggle :lmao:

I wondered about the same thing as the OP when I got my Disney maps in the mail. Guess I'd just never realized what a big portion of the park Jungle Cruise took up. You could probably easily put not one, but several other attractions in that space. And I agree that it's cheesy and dated, but fun. But I'd certainly for something(s) new and exciting as well!

My family LOVES corney humor, thus our love of the Hoop Dee Doo and the Country Bear Jamboree. the Jungle Cruise is just a devine yuck fest. it was never so much about what you were seeing or the boat ride itself, it is a moving stand up routine of corny family jokes.

love it love it love it. please never get rid of it.

I still like the Jungle Cruise also. No longer very technically impressive but I am still enjoy the humor that the CM's - at least the good ones - can keep fresh.

CM: Here we see an African bull elephant. Mr. Elephant Speak!
Elephant: Trumpets
CM: No No - In French
Elephant: Trumpets in different tone
CM: I taught him that myself

"...Here in the Amazon jungle we'll see butterflies that range in size from one foot all the way up to 12 inches"! I LOVE the Jungle Cruise!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I am not a fan of this ride either....but it does add the nostalgia factor....like its a small world....you hvent been to Disney if you didnt ride its a small world....JC is hit or miss if the line is low we ride....long we skip....I still would hate to see it gone.....that would be like getting rid of Dumbo....crazy man....maybe modernize it a bit would be good....
