I just realized that I forgot to post this on this board. Oops. :P

Several people have commented that they wished they could see me play or that sometimes it helps to see rather than just read how I play. So I decided to make a video. It's about 10 minutes long and 40 mb in size in WMV format. Please right click and "save as" rather than stream it since it's so big. My servers will be happier for it. ;)

Can you give me a link to what program you used to make the movie?

Awesome video! :thumbsup2 Thanks. I've never managed to get more than 40K. People kept saying that OK was better than "flawless" so I'd take the picture as fast as I could. Now I can see that I'm supposed to wait for the animals to almost go up in smoke! Can't wait to try it.

Excellently chosen music as well. I like how they say "time's up" right as your ending the game.

(Did you edit out the obstacle course screens or did I just not notice them? I am curious how those are done - fast or slow etc.)

Erin!!! WOW!!! Great vidoe!

I learned a lot... mostly that I have the scoring power... just not the fuel. My average game is about 55,000 ening in the Forbidden room because I RUN OUT OF FUEL!!!!!

What can I say, I crash my poor boat too much.

AND LOVE THE MUSIC!!! I wish VMK's music was as good.

Thanks bunches!!

The program I used is called Screen Recorder. Although you can use Windows Media Encoder as well (which is pre-installed on most computers). I edited the video with Ulead Video Studio. I basically took out the Dock Room levels since I don't do anything there and the video is long enough as it is. But other than that, nothing else is edited. And the music is one of the Pirates of the Caribbean remixes...this one is the Tribal Remix. ;)

cool, thanks for the video. looking forward to seeing your techniques and skills. (it's downloading right now)

oh..it's done. yay!

Nice! Looks like me playing. I matched you almost click for click. :)
Unfortunately, I can no longer get the high scores due to the increased resource usage on my pc. I just end up entering the next room late and most of the animals popping up almost all at once. :(

And that's the Tribal Treasure Remix lengthened (since the song is 8:19 mins long). That mix is growing on me, but I like the Ship Ahoy Tribal Remix better. Although my fave is still Tiesto's Orchestral Remix. ;)

Thanks everybody! Glad you enjoyed it and hope it helps!

Oh yeah, there's a Radio edit of the Tribal Treasure Mix. :)

I'm working on mixing the Tribal Treasure, Jolly Roger and Orchestral mixes together. There's like specific parts of each I like. :)

thanks for the video, LDE. :)
watching it helped with my timing, and today I gave it a shot and am #6 in the high score list!

hey cool video... I really appreciate you posting this... I'm just a little curious, I have such a hard time scoring points, and I was wondering if you could help explain to me how the points are scored? Do you want to take the picture as the animails are turning into smoke? I have been trying to take is as soon as they pop on the screen, but after watching your video seems to be the wrong approach... If you could help clarify that would be awesome...

Also, anyone have a link for the fireworks video?

THanks,
Mark

You want to wait until the last possible second to get the picture. The longer you wait, the more points you get. :thumbsup2
Just don't wait too long. ;)

I want to do one for pirates but i dont know how to start recording (im using Windows Media Encoder).
