Jungle Cruise rehab?

Just read that there is supposedly going to be some money put into a rehab for The Jungle Cruise...anyone have any idea what the plans may entail? Always liked this ride...think it's better at night...but never miss it. Any info???

I can remember quite a few years back (mid 90's) waiting around two hours for Jungle Cruise. I would never wait that long now for any ride except maybe a few super headliners.

I always get in trouble for saying this on these boards, but I hope they completely redo this ride. My preference is to make it about Disney animals from movies like Lion King, Tarzan, Jungle Book, etc. a scary Scar in the "dark" part would be great.

You sure like to don't you? Your entitled to your opinion but I don't really like that idea. WDW is more than just characters, some of the best attractions have no movie or character tie in, Sorin', Space Mt., EE, M:S, and even befor the movies came out PoC was a classic favorite. I don;t mind for example that they gave Nemo a role in the Living Seas but why did he have to take over? I'm just waiting for Cars to take over Test Track and the car stunt show at MGM. I don't know how long the lines get on JC these days but I assume if its a FP attraction the wait times must still get long. JC is in need of a good refurb but not in the way you are suggesting. If they were to "characterize" or even worse "Pixarize" JC I would rather see them put in a brand new attraction.

At any rate, DL just got a rehab with some new features, perhaps that's why these rumors persist, but WDW's JC is somewhat different from DL's, (which is also different from the original ride) So who knows?

I know. I know. I'm in the minority on this one. I just think this ride has seen its time pass. But what do I know? If you don't like my character idea. OK. But I still think they need to really update this and redo it. Or scrap it altogther and put something else in.

I know you know this, but I will say it anyway since you asked.

There is nothing wrong with Disney characters, well except for Maggie. We all love Disney characters, but too much of a good thing is.....bad. It's overkill. It's like your favorite song getting played out so much that you end up hating it.

No one is saying characters are wrong, or bad. Everything in moderation.

I agree with McBride on this one and see no problem in adding Characters to it .

I think it gets more draw and money pushed it's way when they can market it better.The gift shop gets a boost and so forth. Say what you want that you don't want another store at the end of the ride with more junk in it but that junk is what keeps the parks alive and they are free marketing when a kid is walking up the street with it.

It can be done just like the did with PotC and just plus it a bit not take it over like Stitchs' GE

I hope not. I feel the ride is tired with old AAs that pale in comparison to the real deal at Kilimanjaroo Safari. The one good thing about the ride is when you have a good captain who likes to have fun.
