So we had never managed to make it on the jungle cruise before this last trip. On our way out of the MK, the line was short so we hopped into it. I was excited as I only remember hearing good things about it. OMG! I don't know what was worse...our skipper, the audio system and the skipper's piercing voice, or the jokes that never stopped. I guess I did not expect non-stop jokes and I mean non-stop. Several boats were bunched up at the end, and the skipper just went on and on and on. My 67 year old mother said she had serious thoughts of jumping out of the boat and swimming for it....lol. So, my question is this. Do you love or hate this ride? We personally will likely never go on this again.

Personally, I can't imagine the ride without the Catskills stand-up routine. What would you be left with? A narrated trip through a plastic jungle? Ugh! Let me point out a few of my favorite jokes.......There's one. And over there is another one.

I could see being only mildly amused. But don't go overboard!!

Sorry, but I'm a "Love It".

Sure, love it, like it or hate it? Okay, so do you honestly love the jokes? Do they normally take a peaceful boat ride and turn it into an ear piercing nonstop gab fest? Sorry, I'm probably being dramatic but we literally got off and looked at each other and said. What was that?

First ride was in 1972. Most recent ride (at DL) was a month ago. And I've been on it most years in between. It has never, EVER been a peaceful boat ride. That would be like going to the Laugh Factory and expecting a beatnik poetry reading.

I don't really "Love it". It's one of those rides I have to be in the mood for otherwise I don't go on it. That being said nothing is worse than getting a skipper who is so bored with the job that they drone their way through the corny jokes and make it really unbearable.

Our last trip it seemed like everyone was tired and cranky, didn't make for a fun ride. When people are into and laughing at the cheesy jokes it can be a lot of fun!

It's a must for us, at least once, but mostly for nostalgia sake. I agree, it's awesome at night! We like it
However, on our most recent trip last week, my 8-month old, normally super laid-back, chill DD hated it! The speaker was super loud, plus we were seated in the back near the very-loud engine - I think it was a little much for her at the moment. She was amazing in every other ride. For some reason, Jungle Cruise was not up her alley haha.

I don't love it or hate it, but we do it at least once every trip. The shtick does get a little old sometime though, lol. I will say I enjoy it much more at night for some reason

We like it and embrace the corny, especially when it's delivered well.

Same here! We really enjoy the corny jokes. We have had some great skippers over the years, and some who really weren't gifted for that job...

We just learned on our trip last week that they primarily use skippers who are in the college program at night...maybe that is why it seems different?? Idk, but I notice it being more fun at night too.

I'm in the love it camp!

I enjoy the clean, pun based humour. I thought it was a hoot, and look forward to riding it again on our next trip.

I do like (not LOVE) it and will try to ride it at least once during my visit, it's almost a must-do for nostalgias sake (like It's a Small World). I won't wait in a long line though and I definitely would not waste a fast pass for it. Did I read somewhere that they were rehabbing and updating this ride?

Love it! I think it's classic, old time Disney. It's so tongue in cheek that you have to embrace it and have fun!

Love it! My favorite ride. Can't wait for Skipper Canteen to open!

I love it. That ride and the corny jokes are my favorite memory from my first visit in 1977. My dad hated pretty much every minute of that day except the Jungle Cruise. He laughed and we repeated the jokes for weeks. My kids love it too. Maybe we're just a weird family!
