Saturday July 24

So far this trip has been AMAZING! Little Cousin (10) is having the time of her life and the crowds haven't been bad at all (of course it helps when you have a trip planner like this Jungle Skipper on your side! )

After a late night of "Pool Baseball" followed by some paperwork on my slowly dying computer...those oh so comfortable Poly beds were quite welcoming! We sleep in a little late this morning...we have a lazy day scheduled for today, we're going t otry and enjoy our surroundings and relax some.

This morning I am the first one up, showered and I head to the lounge to check out the magnificent breakfast spread. I bring back food from the lounge for the whole crew and serve breakfast in bed! :earsboy: I decide to call the POFQ and followup on my battery charger...I get put on "hell hold" and eventually transferred to an answering machine, I leave a message.

We put on our bathing suits and hit the pool...its kind of crowded at the volcano, my cousins try the slide (I have fat-guy-enclosed- space-slide-phobia  and sit this one out). Off to the quiet pool...we swim a while..then hit the beach and play a pick up game of baseball with another family from Boston. Nice folks..I was hoping they might be DISers...but weren't. Of course the kids made us adults bat from the wrong side of the "plate" (in this case, an acctual paper plate from breakfast :p )

After a while we dedcide to clean up and head to the Magic Kingdom for a couple of hours. We ride Space Mountain, Buzz, TTA, and see some of fantasyland. We are fighting with time though and return to the room around 330pm. Why? well, we're catholic, and little cousin's (10) parents insist that she just cannot miss church. So we decided to go to church on saturday night at the Mary Queen of the Universe Shirne. I used to go to this church when I lived in Orlando, this place is HUGE! So I get the crew reasy and shuffle htem off to our van. I know this city like the back of my hand so I of course drive everywhere..running into a HUGE traffic jam (induced by road construction on 535) but we make it on time.

After church we return to the Poly...after being stuck in traffic for over half an hour. No messages from POFQ...no big deal, I call and inquire once again...was told that the maids didnt find anything...and I told the lady EXACTLY where to find it, its hidden behind the table between the beds..its not in plain site. they tell me they will check again and call tomorrow.....but I don't really care right now, because tonight I am taking the crew to Fort Wilderness for one of my personal favorite Disney classics...the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue! Once again Little cousin has no idea what to expect...we hope the boat from the poly to the MK and switch to the Fort Wilderness boat....we arrive for the late show about 30 minutes early and check in at Pioneer Hall.

When the doors open we are seated right next to the stage on the left side. My aunt and I take advantage of the all you can drink Sangria....well at least I take part in the all you can drink part anyways :teeth: And let the fun begin. Six-Pence picked on my aunt the whole show and the ladies all doted over me (of course)...They tried to get Cousin (22) to play the indian scout at the end of the show, but he has EXTREME stage fright and quickly rejected the offer. The Chicken didn't seem to be as good as I remember...cousin (22) and aunt agree, it seems they have changed the recipie :( its always been on of our favorite WDW foods. But the sangria will help me forget all about that! We indulge and little cousin (10) just LOVES the show! She claps and laughs and really enjoys the experience! Biggest smile I've seen in quite some time!

We return to the Poly via a special bus and headed to the room. We stop at the game room, and I find out the whistle stop is much harder after all those sangrias and packman is more fun (and much more challenging to boot)!

Tomorrow, little cousins mom and dad are joining us so it too will be a lazy day. One of the perks of such a long trip is being able to kick back and relax. I highly reccommend you take the opportunity to really enjoy the little things Disney has to offer. The resorts are BEAUTIFUL! the detail, the friendly people and many of the resorts have a lot of cheap fun to enjoy. And most importantly, take that extra time to appreciate your family too...I see so many upset familes, children screaming, parents yelling....it's sad to see. Make the most of your time, make your own magic and treasure the memories!

After all that delicious food and sangria, its off to bed..somehting tells me I will feel those drinks tomorrow morning..but it was so much fun! I do love the Hoop-Dee-Doo...Everyone goes to bed, I turn off the lights and stand on the balcony admiring the beautifully lit castle...I stil lcan't believe this amazing view! Off to bed, more adventures to come!

Hope you continue to enjoy my Jungle Adventures. See you tomrrow..same Jungle Message Board...Same Jungle Time.

I've been enjoying your trip reports so far! Keep them coming, please!

I especially liked this one because I've been on the fence about doing the HOOP since I booked it. We have the Friday after Thanksgiving at 5pm timeslot. I hope the food will be good and my kids (8,6 & 4) will enjoy it. If your lil' cousin enjoyed it, I hope my kids will too!

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful trip!

Karen

Your kiddos will LOVE the HoopDeeDoo! And don't get me wrong, the food is good, but not as spectacular as it used to be. I wanna go back!!!!!!!!!
