June?

We went last year over July 4th weekend and loved it!! Traditionally this weekend is one of the busiest but not last year!

Our 1st day was July 4th. We had heard bad crowds would be at Disneyland so we opted to go to California Adventure. It was empty!! Toy Story was 10-15 minutes all day, any other time we'd gone it was 45 minutes. Other rides were walk on or very short waits. CM's told me everyone was over at Disneyland.

On July 5th we went to Disneyland in the morning and had no crowds. It got busy in late afternoon so we saved up some fast passes and headed to California Adventure. Again, no lines. That night we went back to Disneyland which was now crowded but used our fast passes and saw the fireworks which was the exact same show as the July 4th show.

July 6th was empty in the mornings and moderate in the evening at both parks. This was one of the best weekends with lightest crowds we had had in years. My guess it had to do with southern cal and deluxe AP's blocked out that weekend.

This might be difficult to determine, but do many blocked-out APs ever buy the $45 Blockout Day passes? Would a major attraction premiering on or around blocked-out dates like WOC prompt an increase in APs buying these tickets? I suppose it might not be in enough numbers to measurably impact the crowd levels.

My guess is most would not. I wouldn't if I knew that I would get to see it anytime later and not pay extra. Those most likely to do it would be Deluxe holders from out of the area who visiting during that time.

That's me! :)

If you own a non-Premium pass, you still have to pay parking as well if you come in on a blockout day. If I were a local, paying $45 to get in would be bad enough, but tacking an extra $12 or so onto it would probably be the tipping point. And if I were taking a family, that $45 per person would add up real quick.

I think crowd levels will be super-high overall with WoC, but in theory at least, blocked-out days should be better. (With Fantasmic! last year, the blockout dates were better, but that was just a couple effects updates to the existing show, not something brand new.)
