I checked the weather underground site and it looks as though historically the second week of June is just as warm as the first week of October?

I'm going crazy trying to figure out when to take our trip!

I say go both!!! Only kidding!

The first time we went was one year in May..it was over 100 degrees. Very hot. We then went later that year in early November and it was perfect weather - high 70's. But each year is different. We've also been several times in February and June.

I think I would go early June because October is hurricane season and that can be risky. But in June you will have thunderstorms almost every day for a little while. Early June would be better than later in the month since not all the schools are out yet.

October can also be busy with Columbus Day travelers.

Not sure if helped you or confused you more!! But I say June.

Average weather temps can be deceiving. I really think early October is much cooler than early June. higher humidity will make 75 in June feel a lot hotter than during October with lower humidity. I think the crowds are better in October also.

We have always enjoyed October, rather than early summer. It is less humid in the fall, and the temperature is nice during the day and at night. The heated pool is nice too!!!

Oh! You should definately go in the fall. Last year we went in October, the
2nd weekend, and it was downright cool with one storm that lasted 15 minutes. We had a great time and unfortunately it was too cool for us to swim. We have claimed Oct. as our season of choice from now on.

The year we went in June it stormed on everyday and it was hot and humid.. really rough on the kids. Great for swimming though!

We usually go every year mid-October. I LOVE IT! The weather is usually in the 70s, there aren't a lot of crowds & it is a really great time to visit.

June is hurricane season also. I would pick October. The temps may be the same, but the humidity in October is likely to be lower so it won't feel as hot as June.

You have picked our 2 favorite times of year to go to WDW. We always go in May/June and September/October.

June ~ Higher humidity, parks stay open later
October ~ Lower humidity, parks close earlier

Our main objective for our May/June trip is to get lots of sunshine and enjoy the hot weather. We are from the Northeast and so this time of year begins our summer. We stay at a resort with a great pool area and easy access to the parks so we can hop back and forth for afternoon breaks from the sun.

We love our September/October trip because the humidity is lower and the temperatures feel perfect. We always go to the Halloween Party at MK. We also love the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. This is a great time of year to be in WDW.

I'm not sure which month is our favorite because we love both for different reasons. If your main objective is the weather, then I can say that June is hot while October is warm/hot. Temps may be around the same for both months, but the humidity makes a difference.

Having gone during both times in the past, I'd choose October. It's not quite as hot (June daily highs are a little higher than Oct.) and humid and not nearly as crowded. You should also be able to get some great hotel rates as well. Have fun!!!:)

We do go both in June and October! June is hot and great for a few hours a day in the resort pool. We love the hot weather because we like to hang at the pool quite a bit. We love October for the MNSSHP. The only thing with October is it is hit or miss for pool weather.

Having only been to WDW once, and it was the first week of October 2005, I'd say go in June! We had a great time on our trip, but it was soooooooo hot and sooooooo crowded. We were always told the weather was great and the crowds were low in October. Apparently everyone meant later in October because it was in the mid 90's everyday and the humidity was in the 90%'s also. I would fix my hair in the morning and as soon as I walked out of our resort room it would literally go flat! Wait times on popular attractions were usually 40-70 minutes. And I think it was some kind of holiday in the UK that week, because we saw a lot of people from there.
That being said, we are trying mid May this year for our 9th anniversary. Hopefully it will be better! Good luck whatever you decide!! Your kids are at great ages and will have a great time.
