My mom and I are about one month away from our first DL trip! I wish it would be here today!!! In the past years when we have gone to WDW we like to go shopping together for new clothes to take with us. Usually shorts and tanktops...it's so hot there! But I know the weather will be totally different at DL. I have read other posts about the weather but I am just wanting some personal opinions about what to pack as far as clothing. I know a light jacket is a must but not sure if tanktops will be too cool? Thinking about capris too. I don't want to over pack (I need to save room for all my purchases in my suitcase!!!) :rotfl: What are your thoughts?

You'll be here during what we locals call "June gloom." It's not a bad thing. In fact, it makes for very pleasant park touring, but just know that mornings are typically cloudy and cool until about noon. Once the clouds burn off, the days are usually warm, but not hot. Nights will bring the cool temps back. Daytime temps are generally in the 70s and nights are in the low 60s. Of course, the later you are in June, the closer you are to summer, so temps will start rising (into the 80s and possibly even 90s) by the end of the month. Precipitation and humidity are usually non-existent or very low, much nicer that WDW in June.

Yep, June Gloom. Today we will be in the 90's but by June you never know.;)

Dress in layers, have a light weight jacket. Personally I usually don't wear shorts in June if I am staying past sunset in June. Even capris can have me with cold legs later in the evening.

But them I'm a So Cal softy-I wear scarfs, gloves, and a big jacket if it dips below 65 at night!;)

I agree--not shorts and tank tops, but more regular pants (capri's can be good), t-shirts, and definitely a hoodie type jacket for mornings and nights. There is nothing worse than having your teeth chattering when you are trying to enjoy the fireworks. I found I am fine while running around the park, but often you will find yourself parked in one spot for an hour (like waiting for fireworks or World of Color to begin) and that is when you can get cold. Many times you will be sitting on the concrete ground until the show starts to save your legs, but this can suck the warmth right out of you.

I don't go to Cali often, but if it is anything like AZ in June, definitely layers. I agree with the above posters that you're usually fine if you're running around during the day, but sitting in one spot in the mornings or evenings you'll probably get a bit chilled (as soon as that sun goes down, the heat goes away), so best to bring a light jacket to throw on :)

We went mid June last year and wore shorts and tanks during the day. Jeans/capris and a light jacket at night.

I have lived here my whole life and I can tell you one thing... the weather in June is unpredictable. It can be from 60s to 90s. I would pack shorts and tank tops but also bring jeans and some light sweaters you can put over tank tops. You may want to bring at least one sweater or sweatshirt in case it gets cold at night. Our weather is nice (in that it never really gets lower than say 50 all year) but it is not as predictable as other places. Usually your best bet is to have jeans and shorts... choose which one to wear based on the weather forecast for that day and then wear a tank top and bring a light sweater or pull over in a backpack. This is our usual strategy and it has yet to fail us. Remember, we dont have a lot of humidity, its more desert weather, so 90 feels like 90, 60 feels like 60, and it may be 90 during the day but 60 at night.

June Gloom is a possibility but not a guarantee so be ready for moderate AND warm temps. HAVE FUN!! D land is AWESOME

We are coming from Alaska in June.

I guess you will recognize us because we will be the ones in shorts and tank tops, complaining about the HEAT! :) :rotfl2:

When I was younger our cousins would visit from Kodiak Alaska. We would be all bundled up and they would be running around in shorts. It was probably about 65! ;) We thought they were crazy!

Having gone in June 3 times the past 3 years, I can confirm this. First time we happened be there during a heatwave in SoCal. It was a constant 85-90F during the day. Evenings in the 70s. Another year, we experienced June-Gloom. Overcast in the mornings, highs to about 68F, and cool again in the evenings. We found June-Gloom much more pleasant but that also meant we didn't use our hotel pool nor many of the water rides.

Check the weather reports a few days before you go and you'll have an idea of what to expect. Now is too early to predict.

Yeah, we really start complaining when the thermometer hits 70! I'm hoping for June Gloom!
