DD and I will be taking our first Disney Cruise in June and I have decided to add a day or two at WDW (pre-cruise). We are coming from Los Angeles so we are not aware of Orlando weather. What's it like in June? Also, which WDW park will have the least crowds?

June is hot, humid, and rainy. Check out easywdw.com for crowd recommendations.

Was at WDW from May 28,2013 to June 11,2013, highs was in the low 90s and it rained almost everyday between 3pm - 6pm (heavy down pours) for about a half hour per day, then it stops. We could handle the rain. But, had issues with the 90 plus degrees heat. When heat got bad, we went back our resort's pool or to Blizzard Beach. Back to the parks at night.

to feel much hotter than LA because of temp and humidity. We were at DL a couple of years ago and I was shocked at how cool it was after sunset. It was a comfortable temp during the day, but I had to run back to the hotel to get jackets. It probably didn't help that we rode Grizzly River Run right around sunset.

We take breaks during the middle of the day to cool off and rest. The park hours are usually enough to support that. Crowds are higher in the middle of the day so we avoid longer lines too.

Carry ponchos in with you. As mentioned above it does rain frequently. We often leave some indoor attractions for rainy times. Central Florida is also around the lightning capital of the US. It is fairly common for rides to be shut down for a period of time in the late afternoon/early evening.

Crowds are a little heavier towards the end of June compared to the beginning. Some East coast school systems do not get out until mid June. WDW even has their discounts that expire in mid June. This year the expiration date is 6/15 for the general public offer. The week that runs up to July 4th will have the heaviest crowds.

Arriving early beats the heat and the crowds. We take a break midday and swim or rest. I am amazed at how much better I feel in the evening after a shower and a change of clothes.

It's fun to compare the two parks, Remember that WDW is not nearly as compact as DL. The individual parks are larger and they are spaced much further apart. It is no 100 yard walk between them. Fortunately, WDW added direct buses between parks recently, but it still can take 30-40 minutes with waits and travel time.

Have fun.

Repeating a bit of what the others have stated but if you are not used to Florida heat it can be quite rough on travelers who visit Disney in June. I would suggest hitting the parks early and either head back to the hotels for a break in mid afternoon like someone mentioned or make a reservation to eat an early dinner/late lunch to escape the heat and relax. You should have on issue later at night as its quite nice regardless.

Rain is always in play in Florida in the summer but generally it is always fast moving and does not stick around. Drink plenty of water as well.

Early June is usually a very good time to go for crowds as most Florida schools are still in and almost every NE school still is so crowds can be much lighter then normal. Late June gets tough as its a free for all.

Have a good time.

Ditto what the others said. We were there June 11-14, 2013 and it is hot, humid, and is prone to rain in the afternoon (but it only rained one afternoon while we were there).

As far as the parks, Magic Kingdom will be QUITE crowded but not unmanageable if you get there when they open. The other three will be equally less crowded than MK, but the more popular rides will still have pretty sizeable waits. Animal Kingdom is the largest size-wise (if memory serves me correctly) and the least shaded, so it was pretty hot but didn't feel as crowded.
